“We have knocked on every door, but no one has listened. I had asked for dialogue only once, and that too was conditional upon commissions to investigate the events of November 26th (2024) and May 9th (2023) being formed. It was Asim Munir who ordered the shooting of unarmed civilians on November 26th. I reiterate there is no longer any room for dialogue because this group has completely hijacked the entire system.

I have instructed Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Junaid Akbar to ensure the protest movement runs with full force. The objective of this movement must be the restoration of justice, the supremacy of law, and the protection of the Constitution. If we fail to raise our voices in the streets, this group of oppressors will gradually finish off our parliamentary party as well. I am standing firm; all of you must also stand firm.

Eighty percent of the people of Pakistan stand with me and we are entitled to fight for our rights. I am aware that 90% of the electoral fraud took place between polling and the compilation of results. I campaigned for the implementation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for two years. If EVMs had been used on February 8th (2024), the game would have ended there and then. I still say today: if transparent elections are desired, EVMs must be introduced, and rigging will end once and for all.”

So many unanswered questions still remain about the aircraft that was supposed to provide “relief to the people of Punjab”:

- How exactly was the cost of the trip calculated? Will the Punjab government disclose the costs of previous official trips undertaken by the chief minister so the figures can be compared?

-Who accompanied the chief minister on the trip, and what costs were incurred for each person?

-Why was an official government jet used for what was described as a private visit? What was the justification for using public resources?

-And will the Punjab government now disclose the full cost of the luxury aircraft, including its usage charges, fuel, crew and all other associated expenses?

-Who accompanied CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif to COP30 in Brazil in November 2025, including any unofficial individuals, and what was the total cost of the visit?

-How much has the Punjab government spent on advertisements across TV channels and newspapers since taking office in 2024, including the much discussed 60 page newspaper supplement?

-How much did the Punjab government pay for the Gulfstream luxury aircraft, and what are the details of its purchase and use?

These are questions about public money. The public has a right to know where, how much and on whom it is being spent.
