This is the first day of the Summer Sale at Electro Depot in Chambéry, France.
Fights have reportedly broken out inside the store as shoppers rushed to grab fans and air conditioners amid one of the worst heat waves of the last years.
Dear Amit As some one who participated in the underground and over ground activities of RSS and also as adviser to the greatest fighter against Emergency Rammath Goenka of Indian Express I am perhaps one of the very few alive to say to recall the horror. Read this fully

Milking the Quarter & Starving the Decade.
Take the Board of Cricket Control of India. A tax free billion dollar revenue machine. In return it is supposed to maintain stadiums. Unless you watch it from VIP boxes or carry your own sofa to it have you seen the experience at the stands? On a recent IPL match next to me in the Vijay Merchant stand sat a family of three. The man is a security guard who has brought his wife and young daughter to the game. 3 tickets would have put him back by a month’s earnings and in return an ergonomically impossible plastic bench where unless you are size zero you will struggle to fit in comfortably.
The BCCI is supposed plough it back into the sport from where it earns. Instead it is milking the franchise for extra juice. The pitches have been flattened to a level that I am convinced I can also give Bumrah a whack or two before he castles my stumps! I miss the battle of wits between the bowler and a batsman.
India’s top 10 IT Companies were valued at $400 billion in Dec’24 and today at about $235 billion have nearly loss half their value.
Peel the onion and you see the same pattern. In decadal good times instead of investing, fat dividend payouts were made.
The automobile guys have done a relatively better job with electric cars but when you visit plants in India and those in China it appears we operate in a different century!
Pharma we played the Process vs Product patent and on generics became the pharmacy to the world but over 75% of our APIs come from China. Great start but then we remained there instead of going up the value chain and playing the R&D game.
Commodity manufacturing company CEO will tell you they are hesitant to invest in new capacity because that will mean diluting equity and servicing debt until commercial production starts in the new facility. In the immediate the stock will take a hit.
A bank CEO close to end of his tenure is incentivised to cut costs, stop expansion of branches and stop investing in technology so that he can retire on a high.
Which voter does not like free money, electricity, loan waivers etc. So is it a surprise we seeing competitive redistributive economics at play with voters almost conducting an auction on who can give them more. Long term consequences be damned.
Finance minister knows that cutting spending or raising rates creates immediate pain, printing currency stops the headache right now, so what if it causes cancer later!
Tax departments seek to maximise their short term targets even if it comes at the cost of survival of the businesses.
Our Institutions, Corporates, Bureaucracy and Private Citizens all have to re-orient themselves towards getting the long term right.
Let's make a beginning at the corporate level which is more under our control. Can we get the decade right even if it comes at the cost of a few quarters? Pandering to market means baby steps instead of leaps.
India has to realise there is no gain without pain.
A French moto vlogger "Frenchy" was traveling through India on his bike, He had a lump on his neck. Curious about the cost and process to remove it, he inquired locally and was quoted just $500 for the treatment.
Stunned by both the price and the short waiting time, he went ahead with the procedure. Within a week, the lump was removed. He documented the whole journey on camera.
He later shared that the same type of surgery in Australia after an accident had cost him $12,000.
If manufactured online hate and negative perceptions in the West didn’t exist, India could easily be earning hundreds of billions of dollars every year from medical tourism alone.
And this is why India needs to fight bad image/perception, that is being promoted by India's adversaries.
THE 2AM KNOCK!
NOW, BENGAL POLICE DO WHAT THEY THEMSELVES MUST HAVE THOUGHT WAS UNIMAGINABLE A FEW WEEKS AGO.
Following the interrogation of former TMC Medinipur MLA and district party president Sujoy Hazra, who was arrested in connection with an alleged land scam, police from Salboni Police Station reached the residence of Abhishek Banerjee.
The Salboni Police team arrived in Kolkata on Friday night and visited Abhishek Banerjee's residence at around 2 a.m. Sujoy Hazra is currently in police custody. He has been accused in an alleged land scam in Salboni, and a case has been registered against him under nine sections of law. He was taken into Salboni Police custody for questioning. Acting on leads that emerged during the interrogation, the Salboni Police subsequently reached Abhishek Banerjee's residence.
GLISCO-DS created protests against Adani in Kenya for a deal they secured with the govt of Kenya by doing propaganda that the project affects the environment, is over priced etc.
This was entirely done using social media in Kenya instigating their citizens against India and Adani by state sponsored psyops.
The protests in Kenya was also used to hit Adani in India by turning Indians against the company and used for politics. Now, a few years later, a Chinese company got the same project for 1.5x the price Adani quoted and won.
There are no protests in Kenya now. It is the same project, same environmental concerns, much higher price, and we can be sure the project will use mostly Chinese engineers and won't care much about any regulation.
Please tell this story to your concerned friend who gets easily instigated against India's companies and development plans seeing Insta reels. Share it with your Kenyan friends.
This is how they do psyops, derail Indian companies, hit Indian development, and then profit of it. Do not let them protest against development in Anadaman or Adani again.
The same Kenya toolkit is being used to derail India's strategic development and destroy strategic companies.
Delhi Police were confused.
6 Honda City cars were stolen in a week.
But every car was later found intact.
No parts missing. No damage.
Just abandoned on lonely roads with an empty fuel tank.
Police tracked the thief—a 19-year-old named Amrit Singh.
When they caught him, he wasn't driving.
• He was sleeping.
• Driver seat reclined. • AC on full blast.
His reason?
"I don't have AC at home. Honda City's AC is amazing."
When a car ran out of petrol, he'd abandon it, take a bus home and steal another Honda City a few days later.
My grandfather once told me that his parents gave a room on rent to a muslim couple with 2 children.
Initially, everything was fine. But three years later, that muslim woman had given birth to three more children. The husband started sleeping on terrace with his elder son. It was almost like encroachment.
So, my great grandfather advised the muslim man to leave their house and shift to a bigger place.
Just few days later, the muslim man filed a case and claimed that he is the original owner of the house and my great grandparents were living as tenants. Other muslim neighbours were presented as witness.
My great grandparents won the case after four years. And since then he maintained the distance from Abduls for the rest of his life and taught his son (i.e. my grandfather) this mantra "Puncture Putram, Kabhi Naa Mitram" and my grandfather has passed this invaluable knowledge to us.
So, when Abduls tell stories about not getting a flat on rent in societies mainly having Hindus, I only laugh at their stories. And I wonder, why don't muslims go to muslim areas if they want to rent a house??
