The thought that Leon would be talking to/about Ashley with his final words in RE9's bad ending doesn't even fucking make sense. The game is about how his victory in RE4 wasn't enough. Nothing he did post-RE2 was ever enough, in his mind, to undo his failures in Raccoon City.

Why the fuck would he suddenly have this grand realization that saving Ashley was, in fact, enough for him to die happy about? How the fuck does that even make sense? And that argument is made even worse if you're someone who thinks that Leon married Ashley. Are you really saying that Leon just FORGOT how he met his wife until he was dying? Are you stupid?

He says what he says to Grace because Grace will have become the first person that Leon will have saved in Raccoon City (now that RE2 OG has been completely thrown out, so Sherry no longer counts).

Imagine having your head shoved so far up your own ass due to ship war nonsense that you fail to catch the very basic detail of: Grace is a person Leon actually saves within the city limits of Raccoon City.

The Dunning-Kruger effect has never had a more fertile breeding ground than Resident Evil fandom. I swear to god.
