Willson Contreras says he went to the Red Sox and told them he would not be willing to waive his no-trade clause. He wants to finish his career in Boston. Joked that he got out ahead of potential rumors by making his stance clear.
Only in New Hampshire would you find yourself on a wholesome family ride through the White Mountains, crossing the Pemigewasset River on an authentic 1920s wood-burning steam train… only for the Wolfman to come screaming out of the woods in his hillbilly mobile, cursing at the passengers, firing a shotgun, and blowing things up to protect his “Unobtanium” mine.
Meanwhile, the entire train kids, parents, grandparents, everyone is yelling “SCRAM, YOU OLD GOAT!” like it’s a sacred New Hampshire tradition.
Clark’s train ride remains undefeated. 🌲🚂🐐😂🇺🇸
In 2009, Chad Tracy's father, Jim Tracy took over a team midseason after the previous manger was fired. The club found itself double digit games under .500 by the first week of June, and their young shortstop coming off an injury plagued season the year before was hitting .218.
A week into June of that year, the shortstop changed his batting stance to include a new toe tap for timing. Then on June 8th, he hit his first HR using the new toe tap and never looked back. Today, on June 8th, Marcelo Mayer entered the game hitting .218, and hit his first HR using the new toe tap.
The shortstop was Troy Tulowitzki and the team was the 2009 Rockies, who went on to win 92 games.
Payton Tolle gets the start vs TB on Sunday, Mother’s Day.
Payton lost his Mom Jina to colon cancer two years ago.
She used to always say to him, "Be a Tigger not an Eeyore!"
I asked Payton about that shortly after his MLB debut last year.
Great advice for us all!

It was a custom job.
