@dee_rastogi While in our study we focus on European domain, I think these findings will apply to certain extent to other domains. Therefore, you may want to consider these pair based (GCM/RCM) discrepancy in complexity as a source of uncertainty in the following studies.
@dee_rastogi In our recent study (https://t.co/BuHRIH5dDP), we quantified the effects of these discrepancies in model complexity on climate change projections. For example, the fact that a typical RCM don't have time-varying aerosol as its driving GCM can cause a weaker warming by about 0.8K.
@dee_rastogi In general, RCMs are behind in the representation of certain processes when compared to GCMs. Some examples may be the representation of time-varying aerosols, plant water use efficiency, or ocean coupling. These issues were also mentioned in the IPCC Ch10.
@dee_rastogi Exciting reading! At some point, you mention that the RCM ensemble project a weaker warming for T95. While I understand that explaining why was outside the scope of the study and would require a different experimental framework, I would like to make a suggestion.
