People romanticize being busy way too much. I admire people that prioritize their career, adventure and fun, don’t get me wrong, but I also sincerely admire people who prioritize rest, regular self-care, and their mental health.
@mattroy14 I feel that. I struggle with anxiety myself. But at some point you need to at least have the decency to tell the person you’re not showing up.
When I saw Oprah interview Michelle Obama, Oprah asked how Michelle got over feeling intimidated sitting at big tables filled with smart, powerful men and Michelle said, “You realize pretty quickly that a lot of them aren’t that smart.” I think about that quote every single day.
@Mariano_P21 I feel you! I just feel like people are always in a constant competition or we separate ourselves by married or not married, went to college or not. And so many people think their path is superior. The truth is what works for one person doesn’t work for another.
Why does everyone think their timeline in life the “right” one?Just cause you chose college over work, grad school over starting a family, w/e the case may be - let people do their thing and mind ya damn business. We don’t all have to be on the same timeline.
