With the beginning of #CapitalPride starting this weekend we wanted to reassert our unwavering support as an organization for the LGBTQ2SIA+ community and take this opportunity to remind folks about the #TransMarch taking place next week!
See you there! ✊️
Three fare inspectors on one bus? Could city resources be better used? Especially since it appears everyone on the bus paid up. No tickets or warnings given. On to the next bus they go. #ottnews

I bought my 5yo her first diary last weekend — the kind that's under lock and key. She was so excited about it, she spent the rest of the day proudly telling friends and family that her diarrhea holds all her secrets.
Luca's favourite thing to eat lately is stickers. He must have a hidden stash somewhere in our home because I'm constantly fishing them out of his mouth.
🏗 How much did your councillor accept from the development industry?

Disgusted to hear the Ontario government will be ending physician & hospital services for uninsured people.
Marginalized uninsured people are human beings who deserve healthcare too.
Trying to save money by denying healthcare to society’s most vulnerable...is just wrong.

Received this nasty letter from someone who believes I’m overweight & therefore shouldn’t serve on the Board of Health. Standards that are projected onto women make this type of work hard. Sad, demeaned & hurt today but standing up for myself and all women @OttawaHealth#ottcity
@Joseph_Belsanti@Dad_First_@ColinDMello I mean, support staff have had wage freezes and abysmal raises below inflation for a decade. Starting negotiations at 11.7% is not so ridiculous when you factor that in. And as others mentioned, with any negotiation, you start high, to get something in the middle.
Everyone deserves a living wage. You've caused this "disruption", @fordnation and @Sflecce. Don't blame education workers. I'm a parent and fully support their right to protest.

Evie: Can we do an experiment where we mix together vanilla and cherry yogourt?
Me: Sounds like fun. What should we call this new flavour?
Evie: I will call it "strawberry".
Deafening silence from government over the crisis unfolding in multiple hospital ER rooms, especially pediatric hospitals. Let's go over what they and we can and should be doing... [thread 1/8]
This morning, I got a leaked document detailing how Doug Ford was gutting conservation authorities - which oversee & protect watersheds - to build houses. @EmmaMci & I spent the whole day trying to understand and explain what's going on and why it matters

@carlyweeks In Ottawa people can make appointments and come in with no line ups at Ottawa Birth and Wellness Centre for an appointment for this population! Parents and kids love it. There’s a theatre style set up to see cartoons afterwards! Fast, easy, safe. :)
If I were some of y'all I would start reverse engineering your campaigns and realise that it doesn't start when the election is called but it starts months if not years before.
I would amend this to say that "bread and butter" issues include social justice and the climate emergency we are in. BUT for most people, the way we talk about these issues doesn't compute. When folks are barely surviving they can't think a month ahead let alone 10, 30, or 50.
