We are pleased to share that Prof. Dr. Alexander Ilic, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the ETH AI Center, will be speaking at World Computer Day in Davos on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Meet the Speaker:
Alexander Ilic is the Executive Director and a co-founder of the ETH AI Center. He completed his habilitation at University of St. Gallen (HSG), holds a PhD from ETH Zurich, and a MSc from TU Munich. Alex is a Swiss-German deep tech entrepreneur, researcher, and investor.

He co-founded the computer vision start-up Dacuda which was acquired by Augmented Reality pioneer Magic Leap in 2017. Alex has been named "Entrepreneur of the Year" twice (2011 by HSG, 2012 by EY) and won several entrepreneurship prizes including the Swiss Economic Award.

We are pleased to share that Chris Painter, Founding Partner at the Cyber Policy Group, will be speaking at World Computer Day in Davos on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Meet the Speaker:
Christopher Painter is a globally recognized leader on cyber policy, cyber diplomacy, cybersecurity and combatting cybercrime. He has been at the vanguard of cyber issues for over 30 years, first as a federal prosecutor handling some of the most high-profile cyber cases in the U.S., then as a senior official at the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI, the White House National Security Council and, finally, as the world’s first cyber diplomat at the U.S. Department of State.

Among many other things, Chris is a Founding Partner of The Cyber Policy Group, has served as the President of the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise Foundation, serves on the board of the Center for Internet Security and the Public Sector Advisory Board for Palo Alto Networks and was a commissioner on the Global Commission for the Stability of Cyberspace. He is also a non-resident Senior Advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and an Associate at Chatham House.

We are pleased to share that James Rubin, Lead PM at Google, will be speaking at World Computer Day in Davos on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Meet the Speaker:
James is the Product Lead for the Gemini Applied Research team and Personalization Foundation Model at Google, where leads development of frontier Gemini models including Gemini Encoder-Heavy and the personalization technology behind AI Mode.

He is also the Co-Founder of the OpenXLA Project, a major open-source industry partnership spanning Google, NVIDIA, Tesla, Meta, ByteDance, Apple, AWS, and Alibaba. OpenXLA has become the standard AI software stack for foundation models such as Apple Intelligence, Claude, and xAI’s Grok among others. Previously, James was an AI Product Manager at Amazon across AWS Machine Learning, Alexa, and Zoox.

"Autonomous systems need to be provable and controllable."

Tricia Wang emphasises that "we need proof that the work has been done as expected. And that proof has to be tamperproof.

"For agents to be autonomous (and trusted) their needs to be provable control over privacy and portability (multi-vendor, multi-cloud)."
