Audification is a kind of sonification useful when you have a large, continuous stream of data. Here, listen to the audification of the shockwaves from the February 6, 2023 Turkey-Syria earthquake.
Each day since the start of the trial is represented by 50 millisecond. Each pulse of sound you hear is one or more infections. The pitch of the sound tells you what cumulative proportion of participants in the group were infected on a given day.
How can you visualize data for people who can't see?
Instead of visualizing, you can sonify data. I wrote a small piece of software to do that. Here's what climate change sounds like.
I would love feedback from visually impaired folks.

.@brycejdietrich and @melissaleesands experimentally leverage publicly-available New York City traffic camera feeds to find that pedestrians avoid Black men more than non-Hispanic white men when passing by.

How do machines learn? And where have the Ukrainian refugees gone a year into the war?
Here's a brief, interactive essay on machine learning (gradient descent) using data from the Ukrainian refugee crisis. It take 10 minutes to fully load 😅.

@nickchk I've tried Pluto for Julia and, despite it's quirks, I like some of the features (interactivity, auto listing requirements, being able to write code in any order). Not sure how Quarto compares.
