How hard can it be? I mean, really? Oh, to have space for 600+ children to play, and a safe, worry free last 200m to school. Working w. @NewingtonSafeStreets
@SciennesPS parents and family it would great if you could take 5 minutes to support @weeunicorns and traffic calming measures around James Gillespie High School and Primary. Spaces for people around inner city schools. Cars stick to main routes not rat runs. Less air pollution.
@safer_to physical activity as part of daily life, habits established in childhood like active travel. The transformative health benefits of exercise that need @Edinburgh_CC to work with groups like @best_edinburgh as a priority. Values based decision making instead of fear.
There is poverty in this country now on a scale I honestly thought would never exist again in the UK. Things got fixed when we had a Labour government for over a decade. They won’t get fixed by a government that won’t even recognise the scale of the problem 2/4
@DrLindaDykes@jessphillips The NHS has NOT "failed". It has been sabotaged by sustained underfunding because Tories are ideologically opposed to state provision of health care.
Today marks the start of #PrestonStreetPrimarySchool's next campaign phase to improve our playground facilities & to further engage with other stakeholders regarding improvements to #ActiveTravel & #SpacesForPeople around school & connecting to the wider city.#Edinburgh#LEZ 1/5
Another fantastic #BikeBus@SciennesPS on a damp October morning, all the way up Lauder Road, with plenty p1 kids taking part. All smiles. Age, hills and weather aren’t the barrier. #SafeRoutes@NewingtonRoutes
Grand Opening of 70 St John's Road tomorrow!

We'll have refreshments in store, too :-)
Oh and a prize draw!
Today Labour threw away any plausible deniability that they were not in a complete coalition with the Tories.
Watch the new Tory Depute Provost invited up by new Lab Provost to take his chains after they vote each other in.
@nlc_snp
@LivingStreetsEd@ThamesVP do a great job of policing speeding. They identify people who speed (lots of cameras, zero tolerance) & then instead of points drivers, can opt to learn about why their speeding is so dangerous and uncivilised. I don’t understand why we can’t do the same in Edinburgh.
@edinhelp @TheGrangeAssoc where this man is walking was jammed with cars dropping off kids 5 mins before, with young pedestrians forced into the road around cars dropping off
@edinhelp the pavements on Tantallon have been closed to pedestrians forcing children to walk on the road around parked cars to get to @SciennesPS . Not acceptable. Need protected walkway for tomorrow morning please. @CllrADickie @lmacinnessnp
@edinhelp Oh, I think you’ve misunderstood, the barriers completely block the pavement when in their proper place and no alternative space has been provided for the 500+ children that pass this point every day in the space of 20 minutes while cars drop off too
