🌍 The Maldives welcomes the statement made by the United Kingdom, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden officially endorsing the two-state solution.
The growing international consensus sends a clear message: peace in the region cannot be achieved without justice, dignity and self-determination for the Palestinian people. International recognition must now be matched by meaningful action.
The Maldives will continue to stand firmly with the Palestinian people and their inalienable right to self-determination and to an independent, sovereign and viable State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Maldives has fewer working hours, few even work during them, and more holidays.
We depend on tGST from a resort industry dominated by foreigners by design.
We created a welfare state around this tGST akin to Gulf states that did so around their crude oil reserves.
@AikAhmedEasa@dyingregime If the ACC thinks corruption of public officials is just about the state losing money only they should go home. Misuse of power and getting unfair privileges through public office is also corruption.
We applaud our @AOSISFellowship Alum, Hussain Azhaan @AzhaanH on this accomplishment!
We know that he will demonstrate the sterling leadership and drive to advance equity exemplified by our cadre of extraordinary young SIDS leaders 🙌
Congratulations to our Second Secretary, Hussain Azhaan @AzhaanH, on his election by the UN General Assembly just now as Vice Chair of the Second Committee (Economic & Financial).
It's a testament to his professionalism, and a vote of confidence in #Maldives leadership at #UN.
