@asymmetricinfo This ought to be reviewed and replicated before itโs part of common wisdom. The author extends the conclusion that funding on such research should stop. It could be the implication once this is replicated and accepted. But not yet.
@emollick I keep reading a version of this - the AI was hacking to get to its goal per its prompt. This seems to be a way to lessen the anxiety around AI. This is serious. Without transparency, on AI decision making tree, this can escalate in unanticipated ways. I would avoid this framing.
@Globe32048 The height of the mountains in-terms of the curvature of the earth - looks like a 100 mile tall mountain.
Would be good if the photo is properly source attributed.
@Neil_Irwin Thereโs the 3rd type - the big middle of the distribution that wear shorts when hot and pants when cold, as nature intended. Rest is preference worthy of judgement.
@mattkatz00 Matt - is there a write up of whatโs happening with the budget? Who is digging in and for what reasons and what attempts have been made to get a budget and why they have failed? And governorโs role in all this?
@TheStalwart Is there research on Fed rate expectation leading the actual rates? Does it lead? Or do they move in hard lock with actual fed rates? As in, is there a metric to evaluate, โtoo lateโ?
@ModeledBehavior@TheStalwart@arindube If the DeepSeek truly has figured out a low cost training and inference (this needs to shake out a bit more) then you need a theory to explain why US tech missed the trick. Your responses to Arin just disengages from the need of a theory. Weird!
@Revkin Given climate change, there is a need of a stronger signal towards where not to build houses and live. 2 seems like the way to go. People ought to move away from extreme risk places and the signals, such as, non availability of insurance would help in the decision making.
@DelhiAirport I would like to commend Mr Vikas Kumar (IGI terminal 3). Today, my family and I were traveling from Paris through Delhi to Chennai. We missed a connection because of delays at the airport. We had no luck with the airline to get us re-booked. 1/2
Mr Vikas Kumar at the Terminal 3 GMR Information Desk went out of his way to first understand our problem, spend time to figure out a solution, and connect us with the right set of people with the airlines to get us rebooked in less than an hour. 2/3
Hey @FlySWISS, you diverted the flight LX18 (from Zurich to EWR on August 3rd) to Boston. You deplaned the passengers past midnight and then you stranded us in Boston to find our accommodations for the night and find our way back to EWR providing no help and support. Very poor!!!
@ProfVarshney @Telegraph@TelegraphSport Didnโt know about their claim. Who are their readers though? They perhaps are trying to serve their readership as they know best given the headwinds that newspapers face these days. That said, such claims will be an empty boast. Lol!
