@alexlindsay For distant, still vistas or nearby fast moving birds or stars? If they don’t have to be small and fit in a big pocket, or capture things in dim light, you can start with 8x42s or 10x42s, ED glass, coated glass, to start shopping. If boating then 7x50s for dim light.
@santiagopliego Watching Mstislav Rostropovich, perhaps the second greatest cellist in the world, ever, play the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto Number 1 in A Minor
This morning, University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, joined the @TODAYshow to reflect on the historic election of Pope Leo XIV—the first Augustinian Pope and a proud Villanova graduate.
@Steve_Pinone@ChuckCats41 April 1, 1985. April Fool’s Day, and the joke was on Georgetown!
66-64!
I left the student section with 8 minutes to go, and walked down to sit at the bottom of the stairs in the front row, right behind the two rows of press tables at center court. Best. Game. Ever…
@kyleneptune Imagine being able to say you checked in to an NCAA Championship game and never missed. 5 for 5 with 14 points. It was an awesome game to see in person. And Harold helped make it happen. April Fool’s day 1985 and the joke was on Georgetown.
@LouMerloni My dad, Gene Brickach, was told by reporters at the Pawtucket Times that he was the first schoolboy player to hit a homerun out of McCoy Stadium in its original layout in the mid-50s. We enjoyed watching quite a few PawSox games there. Lots of happy baseball memories.
@19fredlynn We Red Sox fans loved El Tiante, and relied so much on his pitching to get us through the seasons. So steady and he could always take the pressure.
@NewportBuzz@RIEZPASS $.83 each way with one plus the initial $25 transponder cost. Less than a tank of gas. And the money goes into bridge maintenance not the RU General fund to disappear. Well worth an RI ( not any out of state ones though) EZPass
@Dan_Shaughnessy I’m probably misremembering but I think these guys broke the record held by the Yankees for number of home runs hit in a week. It was either 21 or 22. In a week. I think I remember Boomer in one game hit the center field ladder for a ground rule Triple and another triple?
@thurrott Not everyone here is old enough to know what XP is (or what did it have to do with Chicago?) - they weren’t born yet. That was so last century….
