I really love Director Sato’s honesty here. She basically called them out, saying outright that she would’ve loved nothing more than to give fans what they wanted, but unfortunately she couldn’t because they rushed her and rushed the entire project.

Also, her wish to adapt TriMax more faithfully lines up with Director Muto’s original plan to have the story lean much more heavily into the manga after Stampede. He made that clear several times and it’s sad neither of them got the chance to make it happen.
