Don’t miss out!
Markets don't run on sentiment, good or bad, they run on need. If people genuinely need a product, they will buy it regardless of market conditions. What we're seeing today isn't a 'dead' template market; it's a shift in demand, largely driven by AI tools that let people generate what they used to buy. The real issue isn't that the market has been destroyed, it's that the current offering no longer matches what buyers actually need now that AI has changed how they solve the same problem. Profit follows need, not the other way around.
Good morning, @framer community.
These days I am slowly starting to realize something. No matter how much the sky clouds over, only so much of it ever falls as rain. Our elders always used to say this, and I am finally beginning to understand how true it is.
As a consultant, your website has one job: turn the right visitor into a booked call.
That is exactly what Upword is built to do. Every section, from the hero down to the pricing, is designed to move a visitor toward action, not just to look pretty. Six conversion focused pages, a clean editorial design, and a structure that makes you look like the expert you already are.
Here is the part most people miss. A consultant's website is not a cost, it is a client acquisition tool. Upword is $59. One client it helps you land covers that many times over. Everything after that is pure upside.
No designer to hire, no months of waiting. Buy it once, customize it in an afternoon, and start booking clients.

@pentaclay Congrats, great start. And the fact that you made a sale without being ranked is the real signal here. That buyer came from somewhere you built, not the algorithm. Selling without depending on ranking is exactly where you want to be right now.
Makes sense, thanks for explaining. Smart trade-off too. Instant publishing only works if there’s an automated safety net behind it, and this is it. The thing to watch is false positives. With ranking tied to momentum now, even a brief auto-hide could quietly cost a good creator visibility.
@basit_designs Really clean work. The minimal layout does a lot with very little, feels enterprise without overdesigning. And one-go approved? That's the real flex. It means the thinking was right before the first pixel. Nice one.
Agree on distribution but I'd flip the "no wins for newcomers" part. Reviews were an incumbent moat; a veteran's 200 reviews used to bury better new templates by default. By dropping that, @framer made ranking reward current performance, not tenure exactly where a sharp newcomer can win from day one. Resets reward whoever moves first.
Argentina played today. I didn't watch a single minute.
Since the @framer marketplace update I've been too restless to sit still — so I've been building instead, all day.
Themeflow's new website + rebrand is officially underway. Soon you'll buy our templates straight from our own site, with some seriously good packages on the way. Building for clients? Use our templates to deliver faster.
Sneak peek here [https://t.co/LUGqc9hly3] — still a work in progress, but it's happening.
Markets change overnight. We adapt and build. Stay with us.
@JennieLunis This hit home. Seeing your best sellers buried overnight is rough. And you're spot on — buyer trust is the real concern here. But proven, high-converting work like yours is what comes back up first. Rooting for you and Lunis.
Nothing, really. But on a day where the whole marketplace is losing its mind over the update, this little email gave me more peace than it should’ve.
Small wins still hit different.
@framer
Reviews weren’t quality control — they were the trust layer that let a stranger buy from a stranger. Remove it and trust moves off-platform, to the creator’s own brand. This doesn’t kill “build your own audience.” It forces it. The marketplace stopped vouching for you. Now you vouch for yourself.
📢 Market Over-Saturation vs. Quality Control: Where is the Template Industry Heading?
With the removal or loosening of strict review processes in digital marketplaces, we are on the verge of witnessing a massive flood of templates. In fact, we can already see it starting.
While many view this open-door policy as a massive opportunity, there is a critical concern that we cannot afford to ignore.
🔹 If the flood brings 'Value', it’s welcome!
If this influx consists of high-quality templates that solve real user problems, respect design standards, and elevate the marketplace's ecosystem—I'm all for it. Healthy competition drives innovation and matures the market.
⚠️ But what if the flood is just 'Valueless Noise'?
This is where the real problem lies. Without a quality-control filter, the market risks being inundated with low-effort, quantity-focused content. The ripple effect of this will hit three major areas:
Ruined User Experience: Average buyers might fail to distinguish between optimized layouts and poor structures, ending up with sub-par products and losing trust in the ecosystem.
Devalued Platform Reputation: When a marketplace becomes cluttered with junk, the overall credibility of the entire platform drops.
Loss for Genuine Creators: Designers who spend weeks researching, perfecting user flows, and crafting pixel-perfect, highly functional templates will get buried under the sheer volume of low-quality spam. As a result, authentic creators will suffer a massive drop in visibility and sales.
"At the end of the day, valueless noise shouldn't be allowed to drown out valuable craft."
To maintain a healthy creative ecosystem, marketplaces must implement at least a minimum quality bar. Without it, the digital product industry will lose its standard, and the creators who truly care will lose their motivation.
What are your thoughts on this? Is an unmoderated marketplace the death of quality, or do you believe exceptional work will always find a way to stand out?
Let's discuss! 👇
