இந்த பூமியில், மனிதர்களின் வரலாற்ற நாம் எழுத வேண்டும் என்றால், 2024க்கு முன், 2024க்கு பின் என்றுதான் எழுதவேண்டும். !

நேபாளத்தில் நடைபெற்ற “GLOF” , அதாவது பனிமலைகளினால் ஏற்பட்ட ஏரியலிருந்து ஏற்பட்ட வெடிப்பு் ஏற்படுத்திய பெருவள்ளம் அந்த நாட்டை புரட்டிபோட்டுள்ளது.

இது ஏன் நிகழ்ந்தது, இதற்கான காரணங்கள் என்ன என்பது குறித்து இன்று @poovulagu இணையத்தில் வெளிவரும்

ஆனால் இந்த பெருவெளலளம் ஏற்படுத்திய துயரம், நிலைகுலைய செய்துவிட்டது. இதுவரை எவ்வளவு மனித உயிர்களை நாம் இழந்திருப்போம் என தெரியாது, 100 தமிழர்களை காணவில்லை என தரவுகள் சொல்கின்றன.

இதுவரை 19 பெரிய பாலங்கள் உடைந்து நொருங்கிவிட்டன, 40 கிமீ சாலைகள் காணாமல் போய்விட்டன, 13 புனல் மின்நிலையங்கள் கடுமையான பாதிப்பை சந்தித்துள்ளன. இவையனைத்தும் தவறான இடத்தில், தவறான வகையில் கட்டப்பட்ட கட்டுமானங்கள்.

மேற்சொன்னவற்றை கட்டியது எல்லாம் பொறியாளர்கள்தான், இமையமலைகள் காலத்தால் மிகவும் இளமையான மலைத் தொடர்கள், அதனால் அங்கே எந்த மாதிரியான கட்டுமானங்களை கட்டவேண்டும், எந்த மாதிரியான பொருட்களை பயன்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்பதெல்லாம் நமக்கு தெரியும்.

ஆனால் அமெரிக்காவின் மலைகளை பாருங்கள், சீனாவின் மலைகளை பாருங்கள் என்று மற்ற இடங்களில் நடைபெற்ற கட்டுமானங்களை காப்பி அடிக்க எடுத்த முடிவின் விளைவே இந்த துயரம்.

அதோடு இப்போது உலகம் “மனிதர்களால் உந்தப்ட்ட யுகத்திற்குள்”(அதிகாரபூர்வ அறிவிப்பு இன்னும் வரவில்லை) செல்ல ஆரம்பித்து விட்டது.

இந்த பூமியில் மனிதர்களின் வரலாற்ற நாம் எழுத வேண்டும் என்றால், 2024க்கு முன், 2024க்கு பின் என்றுதான் எழுதவேண்டும்.
இந்த காலகட்டத்தில் “Climate Resilient Infrastructure” என்பது மட்டுமே நமக்கு தேவை!

Dropping Parandur is not Change. It's an irreversible setback for Tamil Nadu's growth

The announcement made today by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to drop the Parandur International Airport project will set the State’s development back by several years. Tamil Nadu’s interests cannot be mortgaged for petty political considerations.

An announcement of such far-reaching importance being made under Rule No. 110, shutting out any opportunity for debate or even for members to voice their views, is deeply troubling.

Tamil Nadu leads the country across sectors, from electronics exports to automobiles. A world-class airport in its capital is not merely desirable, but absolutely essential. Rejecting such a vital project is not change. It is a massive disappointment.

The site was carefully selected after evaluating all available alternatives, and the land acquisition process has been almost completed. With several stages of preparatory work and approvals already completed, we had drawn up plans to ensure that construction could begin at a rapid pace once we returned to office. If the new government now starts all over again, identifies another location and goes through the entire process before work can even begin, Tamil Nadu’s growth trajectory itself will DROP.

Under the #DravidianModel government, Tamil Nadu became the first port of call for investors. This decision threatens to push the State to the bottom of the table. The Chief Minister’s announcement is nothing short of a jackpot for competing States!

Without industrial growth, economic targets of one trillion USD or 1.5 trillion USD are simply impossible to achieve. Taken without foresight, planning or consultation, this decision by the TVK government is a devastating blow to the employment dreams of Tamil Nadu’s youth.

பரந்தூர் பன்னாட்டு விமான நிலையத் திட்டத்தைக் கைவிடுவதாக மாண்புமிகு தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சர் இன்று வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிவிப்பு மாநில வளர்ச்சியைப் பல ஆண்டுகள் பின்னுக்குத் தள்ளிவிடும். அற்ப அரசியல் காரணங்களுக்காகத் தமிழ்நாட்டின் நலனை அடகு வைக்கக் கூடாது.

மிகுந்த முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த அறிவிப்பை விதி எண்.110-இன்கீழ் அறிவித்துவிட்டு விவாதத்துக்கோ கருத்து தெரிவிக்கவோ கூட இடமில்லாமல் செய்திருப்பது சரியல்ல.

மின்னணுப் பொருட்கள் ஏற்றுமதி, ஆட்டோமொபைல் என சகல துறைகளிலும் முதலிடம் வகிக்கும் தமிழ்நாட்டின் தலைநகரில் உலகத் தரத்திலான ஒரு விமான நிலையம் அமைவது மிக மிக அவசியமானது. அதை வேண்டாம் என மறுத்திருப்பது மாற்றமல்ல; பெருத்த ஏமாற்றம்!

சாத்தியமுள்ள அனைத்து மாற்று இடங்களையும் கவனமாகப் பரிசீலித்த பின்புதான் பரந்தூர் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது. நிலம் கையகப்படுத்தலும் நிறைவடையும் தறுவாயில் உள்ளது. பலகட்டப் பணிகள், ஒப்புதல்கள் நிறைவடைந்த நிலையில் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்ததும் கட்டுமானம் விரைந்து தொடங்கப்பட பல திட்டங்களை நாங்கள் வைத்திருந்தோம். தற்போது அமைந்துள்ள புதிய அரசு மீண்டும் வேறு இடத்தைத் தேர்வு செய்து பணிகள் தொடங்குமுன், தமிழ்நாட்டின் வளர்ச்சியே மொத்தமாக DROP ஆகிவிடும்.

முதலீட்டாளர்களின் முதல் முகவரியாக #DravidianModel ஆட்சியில் இருந்த தமிழ்நாடு கடைசி இடத்துக்குத் தள்ளப்படும். முதலமைச்சரின் அறிவிப்பு நம் போட்டி மாநிலங்களுக்கு அடித்த ஜாக்பாட்!

தொழில் வளர்ச்சி இல்லாமல் ஒரு ட்ரில்லியன் டாலர், ஒன்றரை டரில்லியன் டாலர் என்ற பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சி இலக்குகள் சாத்தியமே இல்லை. எந்த யோசனையும் ஆலோசனைகளும் இல்லாமல் த.வெ.க. அரசு எடுத்திருக்கும் இந்த முடிவு தமிழ்நாட்டு இளைஞர்களின் வேலைவாய்ப்புக் கனவுகளைத் தகர்க்கும் பேரிடி!

தமிழ்நாட்டின் வளர்ச்சிக்கான பரந்தூர் விமான நிலையத்திட்டத்தை ரத்து செய்திருக்கும் Sofa Model அரசை வன்மையாகக் கண்டிக்கிறேன்.

சென்னையில் பெருகி வரும் விமானப் பயணிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை மற்றும் விமான சரக்கு போக்குவரத்து - எதிர்காலத் தேவை போன்றவற்றின் அடிப்படையில், சென்னைக்கு 2-ஆவது விமான நிலையம் அவசியம் என்பதை உணர்ந்து, பரந்தூர் விமான நிலையத் திட்டம் கழக அரசால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

இத்திட்டத்திற்கு Airports Authority of India, Union Civil Aviation Ministry உள்ளிட்டவை ஆய்வு செய்து, அனுமதி தந்துவிட்டன.

இத்தகைய கடினமான அனுமதிகளைப் பெறுவது, கையகப்படுத்தப்பட்ட நிலங்களுக்குச் சந்தை மதிப்பை விட 3 மடங்கு அதிகமான இழப்பீடு, மறு குடியமர்வு போன்ற முக்கியமான பணிகள் அனைத்தும் கழகத்தலைவர் @mkstalin அவர்கள் முதலமைச்சராக இருந்த போதே நடைபெற்றன.

இதற்காக அரசுத் தரப்பில் பெரும் நிதி ஒதுக்கீடு செய்யப்பட்டது. இவையெல்லாம் நடந்த பிறகு, அற்ப அரசியல் காரணங்களுக்காக திட்டத்தையே கைவிடுகிறேன் என்று சொன்னால், அது அரசிற்கு பெரும் நிதி இழப்பை ஏற்படுத்தும்.

பரந்தூர் விமான நிலையத் திட்டத்தை நிறுத்துவதால், சென்னையை சுற்றியுள்ள தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள் அண்டை மாநிலங்களை நோக்கி வெளியேறும் அபாயமும், புதிய நிறுவனங்கள் சென்னைக்கு வர தயங்கும் சூழலும் எழுந்துள்ளன.

ஆகவே, தமிழ்நாட்டு இளைஞர்களின் எதிர்காலத்தையும் - தமிழ்நாட்டின் வளர்ச்சியையும் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, பரந்தூர் விமான நிலைய பணிகளைத் தொடர அரசு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும். #ParandurAirport

Extremely sad day for #TamilNadu.

The #ParandurAirport project has been dropped, says the TVK Government.

Years of hard work and intense planning to give #Chennai the dual-runway Greenfield airport it desperately needs have been sacrificed at the altar of politics.

Industry experts understand the stakes.

Investment promotion agencies in neighbouring states will now quietly rejoice, saying: “Tamil Nadu has shot itself in the foot.”

Chennai’s growth and that of Tamil Nadu’s will now face a serious hurdle. We most urgently need a truly world-class international airport capable of handling large aircrafts, with two operational 4,000m+ parallel runways.

I find it extremely difficult to believe that the very officers who worked so hard on this project supported this decision. They know better than most that there is no better alternative option given the environmental and aviation concerns.

The #DMK Government explored every possible option to identify a 5,000+ acre parcel of land around Chennai with the least impact on villages, water bodies, agriculture and existing air traffic. Parandur was ultimately chosen because, after years of technical evaluation, it offered the least overall impact while meeting Chennai’s long-term aviation requirements.

The consequences go far beyond just an airport.

The entire industrial corridor from Poonamallee to Kanchipuram,which accounts for nearly 41% of India’s electronics exports, could have received a massive boost.

Better port connectivity, reliable water infrastructure for industry and direct global air connectivity could have boosted this region and TN into one of the world’s most important manufacturing hubs, creating at least a million new jobs over time.

All of that potential has now been put at risk for what appears to be plain politics.

Our Leader former CM @mkstalin, our LoP @Udhaystalin, the #DMK and I have always maintained that politicising industrial growth comes at a massive cost to the State’s future.

I urge Honourable @CMOTamilnadu @actorvijay to personally speak to senior officers, in private and ask them whether this is truly the right decision.

Do not let politics derail what could be the most important infrastructure project for Tamil Nadu’s future.

If there is genuinely no turning back, then the so-called alternative site must be identified within this year at the latest.

Chennai and Tamil Nadu MUST have a new world-class international airport within the next three years.

Let's hope leaders prefer progress over politics.

Tamil Nadu deserves better.

What does DMK have to do with this? The article clearly reads that the tender was floated by the residents welfare association. Not TNHB or local body.

The claim is by a group of residents that their association floated and awarded a tender that doesn’t suit their interests.

If anyone has lived in an apartment, they’ll know that reaching common consensus even for a small issue is very tough. I can imagine the consternation between groups for a big decision like this.

Why did you have to drag the DMK’s name into this sir? Does the DMK have to take responsibility for actions of an apartment association also?

Then how come the expected receipts for FY 26-27 are lower than the DMK’s last budget? Is someone collecting “30% tax” now? Or did you guys lie?

You claimed there was “leakage in revenue” in TASMAC etc… if that’s true, TASMAC revenue should have increased by >30% right? Why has it not increased drastically? Is it still leaking? If so, who is collecting this leakage?
