@sanjeev__kapoor Parents are responsible for allowing this cultural decay to gradually seep into our society. Not all, though.
Everything Indian is made to look as traditional and unglamorous in the schools. Everything Western is seen as honorable. The PTAs have a role in correcting this view.
@prakdadlani We made millions of Beverage & Beer bottle Crates (both 1/2 & full depth) for global brands. The molds were always leased for the contract vol / time. The IP was theirs. We would be lucky if we co-designed something. Just a different scenario.
I take extensive notes during meetings, but I rarely depend on my memory to recall what was discussed. This is a habit I developed many years ago, and it has proved extremely useful.
When I meet someone I am mentoring or working with, I usually have a one page note covering our previous discussions. Even if we meet after a year or two, I can quickly revisit the context and continue the conversation.
I follow a similar practice during skip level interactions with employees. I speak to people one level below the managing director, understand their motivation, concerns and aspirations, and capture the discussion in a short note.
The notes are shared with the individual and retained for future reference. When we meet again, there is continuity and accountability. I have always believed that execution is where good intentions are tested. Meetings can generate excellent ideas, but without a system to capture decisions and revisit commitments, much of that value disappears.
This habit also frees up mental space. I would rather spend my time thinking about the next decision than trying to remember every detail of an earlier conversation.
A simple discipline, followed consistently, can make a considerable difference to leadership effectiveness.

A friend recently asked me which digital payments app I was using.
When I told her, she promptly asked, “Why not use BHIM, our very own Indian app?”
I admitted I didn’t know much about it.
“Well, let me introduce you to someone you’ll enjoy meeting.”
That someone was Dilip Asbe, MD & CEO of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
Dilip kindly agreed to come over for a chat.
That conversation was illuminating, to put it mildly.
We all know the payment apps we use every day. PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM…
But think of them as trains running on a railway network.
NPCI provides the tracks.
And what an extraordinary railway India has built!
In September, UPI alone processed over 2,400 crore transactions. That’s more than 80 crore transactions every single day!
India is now the world’s largest real-time payments market. A true global force multiplier.
And Dilip has been one of the key people behind that remarkable achievement.
His mind is buzzing with plans to build more ‘railroads’ that will enable new apps in wider financial spheres.
But here’s what struck me most about him.
Not the scale of his achievement. Not his knowledge of the technology.
His humility.
Dilip is well known in financial & technology circles. But I met a man with no airs, no sense of self-importance & seemingly little interest in the spotlight.
Just immense pride in what his team has accomplished & a genuine sense of privilege at being able to serve his country.
I also learned that his mother was a teacher.
Perhaps I’m biased, but I’ve always believed that mothers who are teachers have a special knack for instilling values that last a lifetime. And I couldn’t help wondering if that explained something about Dilip’s grounded personality.
People like him derive their satisfaction not from being seen, but from seeing their work make a difference.
Thank you, Dilip, for the conversation. And for reminding me that ambition & humility can indeed travel together on the railroad to success.
And I’ve switched to the BHIM app now!

"Police & Army should hit the streets against Modi. How many of them would Modi put behind bars?"
Rathee is calling for military coup against Modi govt. This dog doesn't know that India's security comes first for Indian Army.
@NIA_India@AmitShah what's stopping you from throwing him into jail?
If you work in Investment Banking, M&A, Transaction Advisory, Fundraising or Corporate Development, turning complex transactions into clear, institutional-quality Corporate Finance Presntations is part of the job.

She is liberal arts student. Liberal arts people can never understand what drives STEM kids. They shouldn’t be in the same campuses. They have different career goals.
Thanks @SudheenKulkarni for standing up. Please lead this movement to ensure Rule of law and protection to a professor who has devoted his life to his students. The suicide was unfortunate, needs to be investigated. We pray for the departed student and are very sad about this. But weaponising the SC/ST Act without evidence, without inquiry creates a one sided Rule of Fear which has no room in our democracy. This should be withdrawn and inquiry held honestly, transparently.

Human Intelligence in 300k+ yrs has not been been able to guard everything that coexisted or naturally justified existence. Why would AI, AGI ? They would rationalise faster, for themselves, alone.
