@Lemonade_Inc your pet insurance is the worst. Your app is not user friendly and options do not match vet invoices. You expect the general public to have specialized knowledge. The average reading level in the US is like 8th grade. It makes no sense.
Social media can amplify harmful messages about body size but also promote body positivity. A recent @jmirpub case study on musician Lizzo's IG shows her content challenges weight stereotypes & sparks acceptance, despite stigmatizing commentary https://t.co/LwhMFxqge9 @salbert237
I don’t think we normalize failure in academia enough. I’ve often thought I was the only person in my dept not getting funded. I tell everyone I can about my challenges so they don’t feel alone. Yesterday I got a NOA for my K01. It took 3 tries, 3 years, and tons of tears.
@brutamerica It’s unfortunate that you included pernicious & harmful weight stigmatizing images. You could have produced this with different images (larger bodied people moving their bodies/eating healthy). Do better and don’t contribute to stigma. @UConnRuddCenter
The issue isn’t her disordered eating. It’s all the “news” outlets running this story that promotes unrealistic behaviors that ultimately contribute to poor body image, poor mental health, and pernicious weight stigma.
My dad has cancer and had his first appt with the interventional radiologist today. I want to say the doctor was great but I’m still thinking about the comment he made to my dad about not having problems eating because of his weight. Drs do better. Weight stigma is never ok.
@Ask_Spectrum my internet is out for the 5th(!) time in 2 weeks. Each time you refuse to credit my account because it was more than 2 hours but less than 4 hours. Avoiding losing money by spreading something out over days is unscrupulous. Your service is dreadful.
