@Antweegonus I went to the @ArabAmericanMus in Dearborn a few years ago and was truly enlightening how much I learned about Arab migration, even growing up in this area. But anyone in Detroit could tell you BBC was way, way off.
@Graycatent@simongerman600 It’s just the density of the households that dropped significantly. Houses here still sell very quickly and they continue to build new ones on in-fill lots.
@simongerman600 My family has lived here since it became a city in 1950. Overall Livonia has changed much, more housing, still some manufacturing in City, but just less dense. That’s it. No abandoned homes, all houses are quality built and maintained well. Good commercial area.
@Cernovich We have a trust account set up that will receive funds if something happened to husband and me, we had to set up a $5/mo auto deposit to make sure it wouldn’t close due to inactivity and this is at a small, very customer focused credit union. Probably one of the last to implement
@patricia_stoop@nwokeoma_ I got a used Volt a couple years ago for $15k with 15k miles. Was great car, but husband found a lease deal on F150 for less than $200:mo with $0 down, so have that now. There are lots of deals on non-Tesla EVs. Been driving them for 13 years and won’t go back to ice
@japan_nobunaga A - waitresses are paid like $2/hr w/o tips. Tipping is part of the cost of eating at a sit down restaurant. You don’t need to tip for counter, they make at least min. wage. I prefer working for tips & making every customer have a great experience. It becomes your work culture
@KashiwaOmoi I forget how truly life changing the ADA standards are until I travel abroad. Just makes everything easier and you don’t notice it until it’s gone and you are squeezing through a narrow door, or going up stairs way too steep or tripping over uneven surfaces.
@kayleighrenel@SteveWallaceSr My workplace is immediately, but depends on insurer if it runs thru end of month. And I know many, many people late 50s or early 60s that have to have one spouse working with healthcare to retire before 65 even though they have money saved.
@elsathora@DschlopesIsBack Find any small town with a parade (hometown marching bands, the school buses and fire trucks, cheerleaders, etc,) Then there should be bbq, and fireworks in the evening. Most do find a lake but in small town. You don’t go to a big city for fireworks unless that’s all you want.
