#zhanglinghe's new interview for Marie Claire July 2026 issue 💬📸
talking about #Overdo and murong qingyi 🎬
"But I also find that after each drama ends, I carry some traces of the character with me. My personality may also change a little."
Q1: In a drama as emotionally intense as Overdo, was the actual atmosphere on set more rational or emotional?
ZLH🚀: Rational. Only after filming starts does everyone return to an emotional state. Because there are so many people and departments on set, we had to have a very, very rigorous logic to mobilize everyone. Before filming started, we would also discuss many logical issues related to the scenes with the director and fellow actors.
Q2: There are many memorable rain scenes in this drama. Which rain scene left the deepest impression on you?
ZLH 🚀: Actually, that rain scene was very special. It wasn't originally in the script. We discussed it with the director and realized that having this scene would allow the audience to better empathize with my despair at the time. The rain also added to the atmosphere, making everyone feel that Murong Qingyi's heart was indeed raining, just like the heavy rain.
Q3: After each day's filming or after wrapping the drama, how do you detach yourself from the role?
ZLH 🚀: Before wrapping, I don't really have a daily step of detaching myself. It's better to stay in the role. But it's not as exaggerated as people imagine. It's not to the point where I can't pull myself out of it after filming ends each day. However, I do find that after every drama ends, I carry some traces of the character with me, and there may be some changes in my personality as well.
