@yelmelnobrainer @GameMinimalist Honestly if you're looking for an introduction to the genre a basic classic card game like Whist or Hearts would be best. After that, Indulgence, Diamonds, Cahoots, Nyet, Día de Los Muertos, Tournament at Camelot. Fox in the Forest or Claim if 2 players.

@ShutUpShow 2 games: Fight the Landlord (which was released as Chimera by Z-Man) and 1000, the unofficial game of Poland and near and dear to my wife and her family. It uses 24 cards and is a better "microgame" than most modern designs. Both of these are some of the best games for 3 players.
