Instead of posting a cashapp or paypal, I thought I'd just share my amazon wishlist of cozy self care things for pain management etc 💜

@shannonmhauck@DiaryofaSickGrl My only condition with this is that you have to get a pittie young; it is absolutely not safe to adopt an adult pittie from a rescue/shelter situation when you have children. It's too much of a risk of potentially adopting behavioral issues which aren't safe for the kids
@AutismBookClub@DiaryofaSickGrl I also agree, golden retrievers are fantastic dogs and king charles, too. If you get one of these, make sure you are able to afford seasonal grooms to prevent matted coats, and pet insurance for their health issues in old age! 💜
@DiaryofaSickGrl Source: I'm a vet tech. I see dozens of different breeds, temperaments, and genetic disasters daily. A yellow lab's only flaws are their love of food (they may eat non-food things) and that after the age of 10 they become cancer machines, so pet insurance is necessary.
@DiaryofaSickGrl I think a yellow lab is the definition of med/large active family dog. They love kids, are very trainable, and have a low maintenance coat. They're less prone to allergies than the chocolate/grey labs, and have a sweeter temperament than black labs.
My grandma is in surgery right now to have an ostomy bag placed. This was the only thing they could do to save her life, and she is severely depressed. I just wish I could send her the entire yarn store. 😭😭 If you pray, please pray this is an easy recovery for her 🥺
Has anyone found a meal replacement/protein shake with no oils in it??? I have a bad GI reaction to things with dairy + oils added. Help a sick girl out 😭
@ePluribusAnus69 @Autistic_Lia For comparison, another cool genetic abnormality is polydactyl or "hemingway" cats with extra toes. I've seen probably a dozen of these, usually coming in for routine nail trims to make sure no extra nails cause any problems. So even as rare as those are, I've seen quite a few!
@ePluribusAnus69 @Autistic_Lia I love them! I've been a vet tech for 6 years, so obviously I see a larger volume of cats than the average person. I've only seen a male calico twice!
@Autistic_Lia To do surgery on fish, instead of gas anesthesia being administered in the air with a mask the anesthesia is flushed through the water in a small fish tank for them. So they can "fall asleep" in water and be held close to the surface for the vet to operate on them in water.
How do people with #POTS + #MECFS shower? Feels like I have a lot to learn.
There's a built in seat in my shower btw but my feet turn ghastly shades of purple while sitting up, and I have a shower hose already.
I've been going really slow but now have limited hot water. 😩
I wonder how much disabled people pay in delivery charges each year because they can’t get to the shops. Would be nice to have some way of registering as disabled and decent retailers having a reduced fee or no fee for delivery. Else, is just another indirect disabled tax.
“We never get to see people living with pain or #disability because—guess what? They can’t leave their houses. Pain flare-ups can also be unpredictable. You might make plans and then have to say, ‘I’m sorry, but I can’t manage this today.’” https://t.co/xrD51zdAtZ #NERVEmber
One of the most tone deaf things you can say to someone who’s in the thick of it with their chronic illness is “well, maybe if you just lost weight…”
I’m sorry but when I can barely manage to cut my nails or shave my legs I’m not thinking about working out. I’m in survival mode
