My ADHD was misdiagnosed as “smart but lazy”, “selfish”, “lacks effort”, “in his own world”, “too sensitive”, “messy and disorganized”, “always late”, “gets in his own way”, “doesn’t apply himself”, “overly emotional”, “a lot”, and “not living up to his potential.”
ADHD is so contradictory…
We need constant stimulation but are so easily overstimulated
We’re impulsive but also have decision paralysis
We miss important details but have an eye for details that others miss
What else would you add?
People confuse empathy for codependency. Empathy means we understand a person's feelings and can put ourselves in their shoes.
Codependency is chronic neglect of ourselves.
Here's the differences:
