🚨As the Traditional Head of Lelayang Hamlet in West Kalimant, Tarsisius has led his community in peacefully defending their right to ancestral land and territory amidst continued deforestation and destruction of local areas by large companies. Because of his human rights work, he is now accused of trespassing on company property and of making threats of violence.

Central Kalimantan police tried to arrest the indigenous and environmental human rights defender on the eve of Human Rights Day. The arrest was deferred last minute but is now scheduled again for Monday, 15 December.

Front Line Defenders calls on the authorities in Indonesia to cease the harassment and criminalisation of Tarsisius.
