PERSPECTIVE
Not only haven’t we armed the Iranian people, we’re actually strengthening the regime internally with hundreds of billions of dollars and other huge concessions making it virtually impossible to be overthrown from within or collapse from our previous crushing military offensive and economic blockade. We don’t even mention the Iranian people anymore.
We’re also legitimizing the Iranian regime not just in the region but internationally through diplomacy generally, as well as direct diplomacy with the regime, and now direct military-to-military contacts with the IRGC, the equivalent of the Nazi SS, which we treat as a breakthrough.
At the same time, we’re isolating our ally Israel, who valiantly fought by our side when we launched this war just a few months ago, undermining its defenses including via protections for Hezbollah, F-35s planned for Turkey, and hundreds of billions for Iran, as well as publicly ridiculing its Churchillian prime minister in the lead up to its election, which is intended to defeat him, while praising the genocidal Iranian regime and surrounding Islamist regimes, in one of the most shocking flips in military and diplomatic history.
I am deeply concerned about what we are hearing about an Iran “deal,” being pushed by some voices in the administration.
President Trump’s decision to strike Iran was the most consequential decision of his second term. He was right to do so, and we achieved extraordinary military results—including destroying all of their missiles & drones and sinking their entire navy.
If the result of all that is to be an Iranian regime—still run by Islamists who chant “death to America”—now receiving billions of dollars, being able to enrich uranium & develop nuclear weapons, and having effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake.
The details are still coming out—and I pray the early reports are wrong—but the fact that Biden’s Rob Malley is praising the deal is not encouraging.
President Trump believes in peace through strength, and his strong leadership has already made America much safer. He should continue to hold the line, defend America & enforce the red lines he has repeatedly drawn.
Factoid: Trita Parsi is the only person in Washington ever to come into my office and lobby me to cut off support for the Iranian people. It was obvious to me at that moment what was going on. Years before it would become even more clear.
Imagine willing to give the IRGC access to tens of billions of dollars, plus a $300+ billion investment package, on the hope that apocalyptic Islamist ideologues will somehow transform into responsible technocrats and statesmen—yet refusing to provide any kind of meaningful support to tens of millions of Iranians seeking to liberate themselves because doing so is an “unrealistic bet.”

@LauraLoomer@Daughterofvega I’m surprised that governments haven’t learned from what happened to Iran post 1979 revolution and still let Islam invade their countries
@tparsi The Islamic regime said you were chosen to lobby for them, but you actually did a bad job. Time to go back home and taste the life you’ve been advocating and lobbying for.
DEPORT THIS IRANIAN REGIME PUPPET BACK TO IRAN!
@SecRubio gave the order so his orders should be complied with.
Sources at State Department told me 4 months ago that Muslim employees at State Department are undermining efforts to deport Iranian regime advocates after Rubio ordered them to revoke visas and work with DHS to deport Iranian regime operatives.
@tparsi, you need to stop meddling in our affairs here and go back to Iran.
You are not entitled to stay in America.
Get out!
The Iranian regime will now receive more money from this deal in a single year than Israel receives in 10 years (nearly all of which buys military equipment from American companies).
Israel is actively and aggressively focused on complete economic and military independence. It does not want to be treated as a sterling partner in war but a belittled punching bag the rest of the time. Just listen to what’s said about Israel by Democrats, Woke Reich podcasters, TV hosts, and even some of our friends.
I fear we will regret this as we grow closer to countries like Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan and go down a narrow and dark path.
