@russpoldrack We built a module for theory of mind judgments for autonomous vehicles that was trained using psychophysics techniques at Perceptive Automata. Unfortunately we were a bit ahead of the industry, and are winding down. I’m hopeful somebody will take that ball and run with it.

Fantastic new post by Sam Anthony on AV perception, and another good reason to subscribe to his substack https://t.co/rK5DsWENcD
Pedestrians are not a part of the automated driving systems they might interact with, like a human driver is when using ADAS, but some of the same human factors challenges still emerge when pedestrians and fully autonomous vehicles interact. Here, Sam looks at feedback problems.
The unique framing that @sam_e_anthony proposes here is a great way to connect two very different aspects of automated vehicles, deepen your understanding of the many challenges that human interaction presents to automation, and understand how new innovations build on past work.
We focus a lot on issues of human factors in partial automation here at PAVE, but we mostly focus on the human role in driver assistance. This new blog post from @perceptive_auto's @sam_e_anthony applies these lessons to a novel group: pedestrians! https://t.co/zRxWj5DRYl
I’ve been kicking around some ideas about control theory and pedestrian interactions, and how that’s like the Apollo program, kinda. This was a fun one to write!
What can the Apollo program tell us about #autonomous cars? A lot, it turns out!
@sam_e_anthony is kicking off a new #blog series exploring 'control theory.' What is it, and how can it help #autonomousvehicles navigate around pedestrians more effectively? https://t.co/P0q8wwW6NY
What is 'theory of mind' and why is it so important for #autonomous driving?
Our latest blog post discusses theory of mind and the significant benefits it provides to #autonomousvehicles and other AI-powered autonomous systems: https://t.co/miua9NquNQ

What is the missing piece for #autonomous driving?
CTO @sam_e_anthony joined @TheDataStandard for a #podcast explaining, among other things, what’s missing. Watch the interview here: https://t.co/fG9CtUopMh
Sam also offers advice to #job seekers and aspiring #entrepreneurs.
Can #AI learn what people think and how we see and respond to the world? Check out the interview with @sam_e_anthony, CTO and Co-Founder, @perceptive_auto as we discuss the challenges and opportunities of autonomous vehicles.

CTO @sam_e_anthony sat down with Business Reporter for an interview titled "The Personification of the Black Box." He discusses #public fears of #autonomousvehicles, the challenges #AVs face understanding #pedestrians, #robotaxi testing, #AI, and more: https://t.co/UCHJfvrUXc
Will AVs require pedestrians to take extra precautions in order to stay safe? Maybe carry a beacon? @sam_e_anthony of @perceptive_auto provides an unambiguous reply in the latest edition of #AVAnswers
Today is a significant step in our journey to deliver the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly to the world. It also comes at a time when society needs our vision to become a reality more than ever before. /1
