I’m not a college baseball purist, so I don’t feel the need to blindly defend its honor, but this is an odd gripe. A double-elimination and series-based postseason with HFA built in for the best teams until Omaha is a pretty fair format relative to other sports.
The #1 team in the country lost to the #140 team at their home ballpark. One of the greatest upsets in college baseball postseason history.
Then they were given a second chance, and they lost again.
“That was honestly one of the coolest moments of my career,” said Llinas. “Because this is one of the coolest places to play in baseball. Fifteen, sixteen thousand people in an away crowd. It was a surreal moment.”
His coach requested to add on to his pitcher's answer.
"That’s what makes this place so special,” added Forehand. “All that stuff that goes on in the outfield, to recognize that this kid pitched a great game and held a really good offense down for six innings, for a sold-out crowd to give a standing ovation to the other team, that’s so cool, so special. I hate that we didn’t win the game. But for an old guy who has been around the game a long time, this is what this game is all about.”
Is Tim Corbin the biggest fraud in NCAA Baseball history?

Fourth generation Alabamian (turned Texas transplant) here - Alabama is incredibly underrated. I went to an excellent high school with an IB program & more AP classes than one person could take. Beaches, mountains, lakes, a top 50 public university (Auburn - my alma mater. War Eagle! 🦅 🐅), top 100 public university (Alabama), a top 35 med school (UAB), a top 50 law school (Alabama), Huntsville has Boeing, NASA (including Space Camp), the Redstone Federal Arsenal, and the highest PhDs per capita in the nation. Budding food scene. College football is life! People are friendly. You can buy a house for not a ton of money. I could go on!
The sec shouldnt over complicate things.
Football in Atlanta. Basketball in Nashville. Baseball in Hoover. All 3 provide great atmospheres and attendance. All 3 in the heart of the conference. All 3 have tradition. Make those 3 permanent and leave it alone
The Hoover Met provides the best experience of all conference tournaments.
Some people want to move it to a fancier corporate stadium with triple the prices. Don't listen to those people
