One of the arguments by the government for the new box 3 rules (taxing unrealized gains), is that if you would tax realized gains, people can just not sell their equity. And then it can take years before the government gets the money.

Yet, for companies, this is how it has worked since forever: you only pay tax on the profit you realized. So why is it a problem when individuals could postpone paying taxes, but not when companies can do it?

That is a good example of systems thinking.

In the Netherlands, we have a similar issue.

We want to protect renters against absurdly high rents by adding a ceiling on how much you can rent apartments for.

It sounds great initially, but as a consequence, homeowners renting out their houses stop renting them out and start selling to other (new) homeowners. This results in fewer rentals on the market.

So now, as a renter, you could potentially rent a house cheaply. The only problem is that the market for rentals dried up. So you can’t find one.

@tdinh_me Did the same with Codex. Couldn’t figure out for hours why Apple didn’t approve my app. Codex found the issue in 10 minutes.

Hi @vodafoneNL! Mijn vriendin is naar jullie overgestapt met nummerbehoud.

Oude provider heeft het nummer al opgezegd, maar jullie kunnen het maar niet aanmelden.

Eerst zegt een collega dat we moeten inloggen in MyVodafone en dat je daar je eSIM kunt activeren.

Maar om in te loggen krijg je een 2FA code per SMS (die we dus niet kunnen ontvangen). 🤯

(Nog even de security issue van 2FA per SMS daar gelaten).

Tweede collega zou de eSIM informatie binnen 20 minuten per e-mail toesturen. We zijn nu een dag verder…

Uiteindelijk met 8 collega’s van jullie gesproken. Krijg nu te horen dat het “waarschijnlijk binnen 48 uur wordt opgelost”.

Sorry, maar dat is toch echt onacceptabel.

De laatste collega vroeg ik om de link toe te sturen waar we een klacht in kunnen dienen. Hij gaf aan een mail te sturen met de link naar het klachtenformulier. Ook hier natuurlijk nog niks over ontvangen.

Online zie ik ook nergens waar het kan.

Dus bij deze de klacht. Hoop dat jullie je proces snel op orde krijgen.
