Lebanon’s President Aoun was set to take a call with President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, today in the middle of a war, for what was presumably ceasefire diplomacy.

And he’s being threatened - with talk of civil war, no less - by Hezbollah, cheered on as usual by Lebanon’s Parliament speaker, and immortal vampire, Nabih Berri.

Just think about that for a second.

A head of state who can’t even take a diplomatic call without asking permission from an armed terror faction that claims to “defend” the country when in fact it is doing Iranian regime’s bidding.

At that point, what exactly is left of sovereignty?

And of course, this dysfunction doesn’t come out of nowhere. It fits perfectly into the Iranian playbook: stall, intimidate, and use Lebanon as leverage while buying time with the Trump administration.

This isn’t 3D chess.

It’s 3D BS🤦🏻‍♂️

🚩France’s exclusion from the Washington Israeli-Lebanese talks should have been a diplomatic scandal, a historic ally locked out of the most significant Lebanon negotiation in thirty years. But Beirut didn’t protest, didn’t lobby for French inclusion, and didn’t even notice. That silence is the real verdict.

France spent decades posturing as Lebanon’s guardian, hosting summits, drafting frameworks, and performing concern from the chandeliered rooms of the Élysée, while Hezbollah’s arsenal swelled from fifteen thousand rockets to two hundred thousand under the watch of French UNIFIL troops who enforced nothing.

Macron proposed Paris as the venue for these very talks, drafted a recognition plan, and personally called Aoun, Salam, and Berri, and previously Mikati, to choreograph a French-led diplomatic triumph.

Today, Lebanon and Israel are sitting across from each other at the State Department in Washington, brokered by Marco Rubio and mediated by the American Ambassador to Beirut, Michel Issa, who is of Lebanese origin and remains a Lebanese.

France was not just sidelined, it was rendered irrelevant by its own record of performing diplomacy without producing a single enforceable outcome. The bridge Macron wanted to claim credit for was built by others, and the cruelest part isn’t that France was excluded, it’s that nobody in Beirut objected.

Je peux dire en toute âme et conscience à nos chers députés sans exception que la cohabitation avec Mr. Berri au parlement, semblable à la cohabitation avec Don Vito Corleone, est devenue tellement routinière que beaucoup d'entre vous ont perdu le sens du discernement entre l'éthique et l'immoralité. Quand les valeurs deviennent distordues et s'imposent depuis plus de deux décennies, on finit par les inclure dans le répertoire des valeurs morales, ainsi l'état profond corrompu est une routine acceptée par tous, le bafouement à outrance de la constitution par Corleone est normal et non étonnant, la désignation aux postes clefs de l'état de sbires est devenue la règle, la protection des mafieux est sacrée ... si vous trouvez ceci normal c'est que vous êtes soit myopes, soit que vous avez complètement perdu le sens du discernement, sinon expliquez-nous à quoi sert le parlement? s'il n'y peut rien en matière de sécurité et de guerre, et ne voit que des chefs d'oeuvres de la part de Don Vito.
