I was very touched by the Prime Minister’s statement in Downing Street this morning. As ever, he spoke with the dignity and decency that has been his very essence for as long as I have known him.
Today we saw the PM put our country first. Thank you, Keir.
@BigBoiJeff1@Kinowa766 Just to pick the easy ones - he got immigration down by about 75%, got the economy growing, and invested billions more in defence than the last government. Why lie?
This guy could not have done more to prove my point that the hate for Keir Starmer is utterly illogical, and the result of mass brainwashing and indocrination through propaganda.
1) The 12,000 figure is from 2023, when The Conservatives were in charge, not Labour.
2) It refers to all arrests under two long-standing UK laws: the Communications Act 2003 and the Malicious Communications Act 1988.
3) Arrests, not convictions or jail.
4) All harmful electronic communictions - could be someone sending a message threatening to kill their ex, could be an email, could be a whatsapp message. A small percentage were for online public posts.
Will @Tesla_Dawg even recognise they have been brainwashed when presented with the evidence, or will they dig in?
We discuss on this week’s @RestIsPolitics - @donaldtusk observed recently that he couldn’t understand how a Russian backed arson attack on a 🇬🇧 PM’s home and property was treated like “Arsenal 2 Liverpool 1,” just a run or the mill event. Fair play BBC for their investigation but generally the lack of interest and concern underlines systemic anti Labour bias across most of media, and with large elements of the right backing anything thought to be had for Starmer, even if (in some cases especially if) it aligns with Russia China or anyone else who might want to damage Britain. Putin has plenty of useful idiots here
This morning, UK forces boarded a Russian tanker in the English Channel that was secretly helping to bankroll Putin's war in Ukraine.
The first operation of its kind led by British forces, and a clear message: there is nowhere to hide.
In the early hours of this morning, I directed our Armed Forces to intercept a shadow fleet oil tanker attempting to pass through the English Channel.
This successful operation delivers yet another blow to Russia and reminds those fueling Putin's war in Ukraine that we will not let them hide.
I want to thank those involved, including our Armed Forces and law enforcement officers who keep this country safe 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The latest asylum figures show a 58% decrease in the number of asylum cases waiting for an initial decision since Labour took office.
Our updated explainer looks at the government’s progress with the asylum backlog.

@aliciakearns@JoshFG If Bill and Ben both buy one raffle ticket each, they have an equal chance of winning. But if Bill buys ten tickets to Ben's one, the draw is still random but Bill has a higher chance of winning. Do you agree?
Labour is ensuring that Britain is at the forefront of the technology revolution, but the best interests of working people will always be at the heart of every decision we make.
Henry Nowak’s death is truly heartbreaking, and my thoughts are with his loved ones as they endure an unimaginable loss.
In their grief, Henry’s family show great dignity. Politicians must hear and respect their call for justice, answers and change, not sow division or hatred.
🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage is repeatedly heckled by MPs as he calls on Keir Starmer to end "two-tier policing"
Starmer: "His response has been to appeal for rage. That’s his response to a father who lost his son & asked for this not to happen... it shows exactly who he is"

1/ NEW: The net zero economy is now supporting:
✅Over 1m jobs
✅£105bn in GVA
✅22,000 small businesses
This analysis from @CBItweets is a reminder that net zero is a great British success story. And exactly why this Government is doubling down.

Hi @RobKenyonReform, Ashton Library was already saved thanks to the Labour MP Josh Simons (you might of heard of him) and Councillors.
Being that you’ve not bothered to even sign the paperwork for being a councillor, let alone attending your first meeting, it’s no surprise you aren’t up on local issues.
Happy Pride Month to everyone celebrating in the GMB 🏳️🌈

I promised we would fix our broken railways.
Today Southern, Thameslink, Great Northern and Gatwick Express return to public ownership. Run for the public good, not private profit.
This Labour government is putting passengers first.
Today we've renationalised the UK's largest train operator.
Passengers will see fewer last-minute cancellations, cleaner toilets and more services to Gatwick Airport.
We are building Great British Railways. 🇬🇧🚆

This isn't true. Ofgem made it clear "This increase is a result of higher wholesale gas prices caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East". More drilling in the North Sea would be good for our economy, but it would make little difference to prices... 1/2
