Excited to share that the new, open-source Gemini CLI is here! It brings the power of Gemini directly into your terminal.
The highlights for me are:
✅ Open Source (Apache 2.0)
🤯 1000 requests/day at no charge!
💻 Seamlessly integrates into your scripts & workflows.
🧠 Powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro with a 1M token context window.
Here I demonstrate how the Gemini CLI can streamline app development with databases. I cover generating complex SQL statements, exporting data, and even database backups.

@cso4x@julesagent The UI has improved significantly over the last couple of weeks and even in the last few days. I can't speak for Brave, but on Chrome it is running well (hugely better than a month ago!)
I’ll be honest with you. Our @googlecloud Gemini Code Assist was useful, but with too many rough edges. My DevRel team, along with product, engineering, and even @ThomasOrTK had enough. So we’ve spent months removing friction from it.
It’s not perfect, but it’s better! A 🧵:
@Wise can you have someone who knows what they're doing look at my support issue. I've had 2 useless replies that have been of no help. I only opened my account today and can't get my card loaded into my Google wallet. I might as well close my account if I can't get this fixed
@journalisticapp I love your app! Question, why don't tags and @ mentions work in Notes, Wisdom and Ideas? Would be great to have this consistency, but across the different contexts. Also you should get on with a paid version or at least a voluntarily paid version!
@ReadwiseReader@ArtemLitch @mitchelljustin0 @TucciMatias@homsiT@lynchy010@eliias I hope this doesn’t mean making the current web app a secondary focus to desktop clients. As a Chromebook user and paid subscriber, I love Reader and have been heavily using the offline functionality over the last month.
@MB9809801768112 Probably one of the best things you can do, is sign up your own test org with the free tier. This way you can go thru setting up an org with policies etc. I also wrote a blog on this - https://t.co/aLMCIW6fmd
@MB9809801768112 and practise exams to help understand your areas for improvement. I'm a big fan of Skills Boost, GCP's learning platform. Also the Innovators Program that gives you an exam voucher & up to $1,000 GCP credits for $300. I wrote a blog on it, see https://t.co/VdwsCGJ63o
