@Jake_Hanrahan Pray for your enemies. We seek to remove the boots from the necks of the oppressed, in no small part because it is also horrible for the very people who have their boots on the throats of the oppressed as well as for the oppressed. Oppression is also bad for the oppressors.
@RepSwalwell@tedcruz@dallascowboys@49ers Senator Cruz is not a Texan. Even Texans who have voted for him don’t claim him as Texan. You can’t count on his honor as a Texan to hold to y’all’s deal. Most of us Texans think of him as some kind of varmint. If a man’s no better than his word you can’t count on his word.
To Trump:
You had your chance, with a Republican House and Senate. You handed domestic policy to your son-in-law and Gary Cohn. You handed foreign policy to your son-in-law and a country that gave your son-in-law $2 billion.
Shut the fuck up, forever.
@huskyhuskarl I like it. I read the Hobbit when I was 6 in 1983 and Lord of the Rings the next year. I didn’t understand a lot of it then but I found it to be beautiful and I was hooked. It’s been a lifelong thing ever since.
Oh, nothing, it's just WaPo trying to pressure social media to choke off our traffic again based on the lie that we're anti-vaccine, not just anti-vaccine mandate. Notice the difference between the headline and the actual story.
Quick question; what did 9/11 have to do with veterans? The terrorists targeted symbols of American power and culture. The 1/6 rioters targeted our democracy. In both cases first responders bore the weight of the attack not soldiers or veterans. What am I missing?
Can anyone recommend a good sci-fi novel that is NOT an allegory for current political trends, is NOT premised upon the presumption that people are horrible, and NOT set in a future when humanity has inexplicably reverted to an imperialist monarchy?
Um… that’s WHY investigations exist, man. To find out things we don’t already know. By this rationale no investigation should ever be done ever. “I mean, whatever you think happened, that’s exactly what happened. Case closed!”
Serious question: what precisely does anyone think we are going to find out from the January 6 commission that we don't already know, and that isn't pure partisan politicking?
