[1/5] The horrific murder of Carol, Hannah and Louise Hunt has left an entire nation in a state of disbelief and shock as an utterly devastating act of male violence.
My thoughts today remain with the lives stolen from this world by yet another violent man:
Carol Hunt, 61
Louise Hunt, 25
Hannah Hunt, 28
We must name it, again and again:
Male violence against women and girls.
This has to stop.
Please @YvetteCooperMP@jessphillips@Keir_Starmer do not use the murders of Carol, Hannah and Louise to simply ban crossbows. Do that if you will, but don’t do it to avoid the more difficult issue of male violence towards partners. And how about following through on the promises made after the murder of Sarah Everard - specifically - relentless pursuit of perpetrators. Risk escalation tracking should be standard practice by now.
My heart breaks for Carol, Hannah and Louise.
A woman is killed by a man every 3 days in the UK. They’re not a statistic, but people whose lives and dreams were cruelly stolen from them.
Male violence and misogyny are endemic. We demand a world where women are safe and free.
I can’t stop thinking about Carol, Louise & Hannah Hunt & their last moments alive.
We urgently need violent & abusive men to be treated as the terrorists that they are - they terrorize, abuse & kill women & children.
STOP these ridiculous & distracting male centric narratives. Stop with the ‘nice guy’ & crossbow obsession. FOCUS on the actual problem: male violence to women @YvetteCooperMP@jessphillips

When voting in 5 days, please remember that under the Tories:
Don’t get old.
Don’t get sick.
Don’t get disabled.
Don’t get unemployed.
Don’t get zero hours contracted.
Don’t get poor.
Don’t get unlucky.
Don’t get vulnerable.
Don’t get ideas above your station.
Harry Kane has said in an interview that: “England hasn’t won anything as a nation for a long, long time”.
The Lionesses just won the Euros, and came second in the World Cup. But I guess female sporting achievements don’t count, right?
For the last 14 years as an NHS doctor, I have watched this party, these governments, savage the NHS into a crumbling shell of a once great institution. Deliberate, calculated, shameless destruction.
Only one thing to say. Please, if you still want an NHS, do not vote Tory.
This Dying Matters Awareness Week focuses on how important it is to talk about death, dying & grief. We've worked with My Day Care Services to produce an amazing film to help start conversations.

I've signed @mencap_charity's petition calling on @DHSCgovuk to stop people with a learning disability and autistic people being detained in mental health hospitals when they could be living in the community with the right support. Will you sign too? https://t.co/cslzUt7Uip
