@biancles1234 I think he wanted to die knowing that he stuck to his beliefs. I think it was a a way for him to feel fulfilled. Adam’s beliefs were constantly tested by those around him, that it must have felt good not to fall to peer pressure. #laylit18

Meursault’s focus on the ice cream truck and how“lasting”it is show how distracted Meursault is from the emotional aspects of life. He tends to focus on physical things, which is a complete 180 from the opinions of everybodys, making others feel uncomfortable around him #laylit18

Societies failure to acknowledge the praise from other people about Meursault shows the hatred and closed mind that society has toward Meursault. They see him as a horrible person and nothing more. #laylit18

Meursault inability to perceive he trial as an issue, but rather see it as a casual thing looking from outside in, shows how he feels about the opinion of others. He doesn’t care about what others think of him, or what ends up happening with his life. #laylit18

There seems to be cracks in Meursaults personality that show that he is slightly emotional. He says that him and Marie “felt a closeness as we moved in unison and were happy”. It shows that he is capable of showing some sort of happiness. #Laylit18

@catherinetherye This could also be the reason he feels disconnect with his mother. There could’ve been one main instance that caused them to fight, which makes him think it’s a failure and there are no other tries. This one and done thing hurts progress in most of his life actions. #laylit18

@marissa_osofsky I think this also has to do with the idea that marriage is a social construct. Meursault likes to stand out and doesn’t usually agree with the majority. He doesn’t like the idea of these social “rules” that he must abide by, this hating the idea of marriage. #laylit18
