ElectroMag Nodes now available on BlenderMarket and Gumroad! Give it a go! I would appreciate any comments/feedback. Keep in mind that this is a first attempt at creating a basic electromagnetics solver in Blender, expect more features and nodes to be added

Here are some high res renders of my simulation for induced eddy currents in conductive planes. A coil carrying high frequency AC when placed above a metal sheet will cause eddy currents to be induced in the sheet that cancel the magnetic field and reduce the coil’s inductance.
Eddy current shielding is used in certain applications such as wireless power transfer and induction heating to create an asymmetric magnetic field that is strong on one side and weak on the other.

Now can simulate eddy currents with ElectroMag Node! This animation shows the a high frequency coil above a conductive plane, eddy currents are induced in the plane that cancel the magnetic field and reduce the coil’s inductance. Running entirely inside Blender with geometry nodes #b3d #science #engineering #geometrynodes
Fast self inductance and mutual inductance calculation based on geometry nodes, this solves the Neumann integral in realtime, allowing for any arbitrary coil geometry and orientation, coming soon as a free update to ElectroMag Nodes

@Jay966591328971 yes I'm using Coilcraft 2929SQ air core inductors to compare, inductance result is close enough within 10% the resistance calculation begins to diverge and become unstable at frequencies above 1MHz.
continuing with my PEEC solver in Blender for inductors. Now I have a basic Python/Numba code that can calculate skin and proximity. You can see as the frequency increases the current shifts towards to the outer surface and also gets affected by adjacent turns

working on creating a PEEC (partial element equivalent circuit) solver, instant calculation of inductance. Geometry nodes are becoming more and more powerful. This will be included in Electromag Nodes. #b3d#geometrynodes#electronics#technology#Science
I finally made on it on the @TheAmpHour podcast! Many thanks to Chris Gammell for having me on podcast, please check it out if you want to learn about all things @Blender and how I use it for modelling and visualisations in engineering.

Power engineer and 3D graphic artist @samerps's #blender visualizations have helped many people understand how RF and magnetics acts in a variety of circuits. He talks about how to get started in Blender and the variety of tools available once you do.

Kicad can export layout and individual nets as STL files, which can then be imported in #b3d with the new Import STL node. You can either import the entire geometry or selected specific nets by typing their name. The imported geometry can then be scaled up to view a net of interest in more details like this pcb planar transformer design #geometrynodes #electronics #Engineering #3dart #3DModel #kicad
I'm experimenting with the new features in both #kicad and Blender for exporting and importing geometry. KiCAD now allows you to filter and export selected nets from the PCB as STL or STEP files, and Blender now has new import STL nodes in geometry nodes, which means you can select the nets that you want to visualise with having to import the entire geometry. #b3d #geometrynodes #electronics #Engineering
back to rendering PCBs and playing with geometry nodes! I'm using the the new import STL nodes to quick export selected nets from kicad into blender
