@hahussain Thank you. Somaliland is showing resilience, but its economic situation remains very poor. This is an important point; the population is truly suffering. really.
The #Somalia🇸🇴 failed state’s “territorial integrity” is once again the permissive environment enabling #piracy networks “increasingly associated” with #Shabaab “as it once again expands its territorial control” & forges links with #Yemen🇾🇪’s Houthis. https://t.co/RnJ34HTHNi
@TiborPNagyJr It is absolutely true: where there's a will, there's a way. They could pull it off if they wanted to, using the Turkish armada. The Somalia government has no other objective than to collect money from taxpayers in donor countries.
🚨 BREAKING: Somalia’s Foreign Affairs Minister has reportedly said that Mogadishu “separated Las Anod from Somaliland” and could “return it” to Somaliland, while declaring the FGS ready for talks with Hargeisa.
The statement exposes just how desperate Mogadishu is to restart talks with the Republic of Somaliland. It is apparently willing to abandon the very militias and political forces it has backed in Las Anod if doing so brings Somaliland back to the negotiating table.
The Somaliland government should not fall for these political manoeuvres.
NO TALKS WITH SOMALIA. Full stop.
Somaliland does not need Mogadishu’s permission, mediation or political bargaining. Whether Las Anod ultimately returns or does not is increasingly irrelevant to Somaliland’s future.
In my view, the government should designate Caynabo as the regional capital, consolidate Somaliland’s institutions and security there, and move forward.
Somaliland’s priorities should be recognition, economic development, security and strategic partnerships with the outside world… not another endless round of negotiations with Mogadishu.
While piracy is again rearing its ugly head off the coast of Somalia and the Mogadishu regime fights with its member states, Somaliland is promoting security by offering use of Berbera port to peacekeeping navies. Which is the responsible nation?

@PsyGuy007 j'ai vu plein de gens, non musulmans, qui se travestissent comme cette femme, pour se faire passer pour des musulmans et commettre ce genre de méfaits, ce qui permet en plus d'alimenter le sentiment anti-islam.
Somali (Mogadishu) politics could be a slapstick parody on Netflix! But it's actually a tragedy since it's the Somali people who suffer from what at best would be a circus clown act. How much longer can this kind of "statesmanship" go on?!
