@AminTabrizchi I completely agree with your statement. Live music creates a whole different experience for the audience that simply cannot be conveyed through recordings. I myself would much rather hear live music than recordings #POPMUS22
@KomranMackey I completely agree with your statement that technology has made live performances more difficult. While reading this, video's of Olivia Rodrigo performing live came to mind. Although she does perform her music very well, it is definitely harder for her #POPMUSW22
I disagree with Wald's statement. Although technology has evolved making music recordings more enjoyable, live music is a completely different atmosphere that I believe younger audiences still enjoy. It gives people a better experience of their favourite music #POPMUSW22
@JordanBarter12 I agree! If artists take music from others and respectfully acknowledge their work, it most definitely should not be dismissed, however there are some artists who simply do this for selfish reasons #POPMUSW22
@saradwyer0_0 I completely agree! Although many artists were probably just trying to make an impact on pop culture, the way they did it was wrong. Using music from other artists for inspiration shows creativity, however taking it without giving credit is simply disrespectful #POPMUSW22
This music was considered "schlock" because white artists took these songs and profited from them without giving credit. Doing this, they changed the true meaning of the music, and completely dismissed the work of the original black artists #POPMUSW22
@Aidanc313 I completely agree with you, the emotion he puts in his voice to demonstrate his emotion has definitely made his voice very unique and recognizable! By listening to his music, it is quite easy to tell how passionate he is about his music #POPMUSW22
@NimlaAlam I totally agree, his voice really demonstrates the devotion of the song. Without the vocal techniques that he uses, his true emotions and feelings would not be conveyed to his audience! #POPMUSW22
Ray Charles uses breaking voice in his song "I've got a woman" to demonstrate the true emotion of the song that is not elicited simply from the lyrics alone. These vocal techniques help the listener understand how powerful these lyrics are to him #POPMUSW22
@Kgclarke2 Modern technology has definitely made music much easier to explore! I also remember taking the time to burn off CD's as a child, and its crazy to me now that you can download any song you like in less than a minute! The accessibility of music today is incredible! #POPMUSW22
Recently developed technology has made it so today, people are able to listen to music everywhere they go and allow people to explore new music with ease. Recent technology however, such as Air pods, are definitely a symbol of social class since they are so expensive #POPMUSW22
@ACJ78028692 I think much of today's popular music demonstrates unrealistic beauty standards. There are some artists who do focus on body confidence, such as Lady Gaga, who uses her fame to express the importance of embracing your flaws. This type of music is rare today though #POPMUSW22
@GojiraKira Much of today's music focuses solely on sound to capture the audience opposed to meaningful lyrics. Although not all artists focus on this, "dumbed down" music is dominating the popular music industry. It is refreshing to listen to meaningful music #POPMUSW22
Some false needs created by the popular music industry are luxury items, alcohol/drugs, and one that I find the most prominent is unrealistic beauty standards. Popular music propagates a dumbed-down form of music since many lyrics today lack meaning #POPMUSW22
