Neurodivergent grad student doing my best to undermine the systemically ableist, sexist, racist & colonialist structures that are ubiquitous in 🇨🇦 (she/her)
@Earth___Crisis@ParentMishmash Novavax made my LC much worse as well. I switched back to Moderna vaccines and I have experienced no decline or slightly improved symptoms each time (4x since Novavax). Of course, we’re all different, but there’s no reason to swear off all vaccines due to a bad Novavax rxn.
@broadwaybabyto I’m an RN. I mask to protect the health of myself & those around me. Both my child & I have LC x4 years. I understand the consequences of Covid infections. I think it’s ignorant & immoral for ppl to ignore Covid in the middle of this pandemic.
@GayFabFourFan As a nurse who works in an ED, I have never asked anyone why they are masked. We don’t need to do this. Your family member is 100% wrong.
🚨New paper!🚨
tl;dr Hospice staff are uncertain how a “living with covid” approach helps promote quality of life left, but find it difficult to address as covid mitigations are strongly associated with negative emotions of the emergency period.

@sailormercuryrx What do you not understand about extrapolation to the general population? This case is about the exacerbation of a specific illness. It is not valid to use this as evidence that everyone around you who’s had Covid now has brain damage that’s resulting in behavioural changes.
@JennaACunninham Thank you for posting this. I agree 100%. Unfortunately, I don’t feel like the Covid cautious community is one I want to be part of anymore - even though I’ll continue taking precautions & advocating for mitigations. There is too much bias, ableism, etc & not enough empathy.
@zatara2010 I agree that masking itself doesn’t cause trauma, but it could be a PTSD trigger for HCWs who went through the horrors of 2020-21. A lot of seemingly innocuous things can be PTSD triggers, and I think this is a more likely explanation. I don’t agree with the anti-mask video, tho
@MaskedHottiee No, but you’re contributing to the spread of unscientific misinformation within the cc community that will ensure we will never gain any credibility. This rhetoric is unsupported by evidence & is harmful to disabled ppl + ppl who are fighting for increased mitigations.
@sailormercuryrx The studies you’ve highlighted here show that you do not understand how to read research papers and draw valid conclusions from them. You’re spreading misinformation & hurting the credibility of the cc community.
@sailormercuryrx Study 2 is about pts with pre-existing dementia. 3 is a case report about 1 pt with Alzheimer’s. 4 is about catatonia pts. None of these can be extrapolated to the general population. Study 1 is about well-known cog. Dysfunction that does not show changes in behaviour.
@MaskedHottiee Then I hope you understand that you’re spreading misinformation & hurting the credibility of the cc community as a whole. Ppl already don’t think our opinions are credible. It’s no wonder no one takes us seriously when we ask for mitigations.
@MaskedHottiee @maladyvessel @leslieleeiii@MaskFairy This isn’t really a logical argument that would hold up in a practical & scientific discussion of the cause-and-effect of illness. Show me some actual research to back up what you’re saying - otherwise, you’re spreading misinformation.
@maladyvessel @MaskedHottiee@leslieleeiii@MaskFairy You are 100% correct in questioning this rhetoric. Their claims are not backed by scientific studies & they’re spreading misinformation by claiming Covid brain damage is the cause of behavioural changes they’re seeing in ppl. It’s an asshole move by the cc community, imho
@MaskedHottiee Please point me to the studies that show COVID-19 infection causes long-term behavioural changes due to frontal lobe dysfunction. Otherwise, you’re spreading misinformation.
@ibrake4ants Of course it’s possible she could be reinfected with a different variant. Some people are sick with more than one variant at the same time. The only way they can truly know what happened is to analyze her PCR swabs for which specific variant(s) she is harbouring.
@sailormercuryrx Please show me the scientific studies, then, that clearly show causation between Covid infection & specific undesirable personality traits. CC people who go around accusing others of bad behaviour after Covid are ruining their credibility because the science isn’t there.
@4Livingtheory@twitchyspoonie What you’re claiming (Covid makes people mean) is not backed up by any scientific studies. Cognitive challenges, such as brain fog & forgetfulness, should not be conflated with the personality changes you’re claiming take place after infection.
@sailormercuryrx I haven’t seen any studies linking ASPD with Covid infection. Please cite your sources for your claim. You also betray a misunderstanding of dementia with your comment, since this is a gradual disease that doesn’t show personality changes initially.
@PoliticalAdrift@twitchyspoonie Absolutely! And I think there are definitely ways we can talk about cognitive dysfunction that are compassionate & avoid stigmatizing people. Unfortunately, many in the cc community have not chosen this approach. I have LC, so I know first-hand how it can affect one’s brain.
