🇺🇸 Somaliland's President Abdullahi is expected to make his first-ever trip to Washington this week, seeking U.S. recognition of Somaliland as an independent state.

He'll hold meetings in DC and New York with U.S. politicians and members of Congress, hoping to meet Trump as well.

So far, only Israel has officially recognized Somaliland's independence, while the UAE has offered some support without full recognition.
