2023 updated version NCCN Genetic/Familial High-Risk Assessment: Colorectal guidelines have been released. Available @ https://t.co/BpdF67BE9h for free. Thanks to the incredible panel members who donate their time and energy annually to making these the best they can be @nccner
@AParekhBPC @UHC@Shivan_Mehta@statnews@angRchen This is going to harm patients. We already have major problems with timely colonoscopy for red flag signs and symptoms of #crc and abnormal #crc screening tests. Over/inappropriate use but the solution cannot be to make appropriate, time sensitive procedures hard to get.
@uabmedicine and the division of GI here is an amazing place! A rich tradition of state-of-the art patient care, engaging fellows, and faculty who are really exemplary in their commitment to patient care, teaching, and research. Thank you @uabmedicine for a great visit!
It was a true honor to visit @uabmedicine and give medicine grand rounds in honor of Dr. Basil Hirshowitz. Dr. Hirshowitz's creative read of a Nature paper in the 1950's about fiberoptic cables led him to develop the flexible endoscope.
Wonder why Traditional Serrated Adenomas require surveillance after 3 years? Our paper in @AGA_CGH demonstrates TSAs confer increased risk for CRC vs normal colonoscopy with CRC rates similar to advanced adenomas, check out below! @samirguptaGI@dembj13

Thank you to @NBCNews for this article about the @NEJM colonoscopy trial. As I stated, colonoscopy works only if you actually do it! I really hope the media headlines will not deter people from undergoing life-saving cancer screening. @DFarberYoungCRC@DanaFarber
@CaulfieldTim@angRchen@statnews Thanks for highlighting, and I would add there is a bunch of very positive info about colonoscopy in this study. First rct to show colonoscopy reduces incidence. Per protocol as screened analyses show dramatic reductions in incidence and mortality.
@yuvalpatelMD@vkoganpolisci@VPrasadMDMPH @gi_sullivan @drfolamay@JasonDominitz I agree - one sentence cannot do the results of this study justice. There is a bunch of very positive info. First rct to show colonoscopy reduces incidence. Per protocol as screened analyses show dramatic reductions in incidence and mortality.
