This is how Pakistan marks its formation and existence, through the killing of innocent Baloch civilians, including children, and through genocide. Last night, Pakistani forces bombed the town of Gondan in Surab, Balochistan. At least 20 bodies have been recovered from the rubble, while many others remain injured and in need of urgent medical assistance.

The affected area is surrounded by Pakistani forces, restricting access for rescue teams, medical staff, ambulances, and journalists. Blocking humanitarian assistance and independent documentation compounds the grave human rights violations and demands immediate international attention.

I urge journalists, medical teams, humanitarian organizations, and people around the world to demand immediate access to the affected area, ensure medical assistance reaches survivors.

Despite continuous protests in Islamabad demanding the release of BYC leaders, and the fact that they remain in illegal custody without any evidence, the court today once again chose injustice over fairness, extending the remand of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and other leaders by another 15 days. This follows earlier remands of 10, 15, and 20 days, in addition to more than three months under 3MPO. These repeated extensions reveal how the judicial system is being misused to suppress political voices. Yet, instead of breaking their resolve, the state’s actions have only strengthened their struggle and further exposed the failures of the judicial system in Pakistan.

Paank condemns in the strongest possible terms the heinous grenade attack on the home of Khudad in Turbat’s Aapsar area at around 11:00 p.m. on 11 August 2025, carried out by members of Pakistan’s military death squads. This deliberate targeting of a family home left two women critically injured and further exposes the brutal campaign of collective punishment against the Baloch people.

Such acts are not isolated incidents but part of a systematic policy of terror, aimed at silencing voices, instilling fear, and punishing entire communities for demanding their rights. The use of indiscriminate violence against civilians is a war crime under international law.

Paank demands an immediate end to these state-backed attacks, an international investigation into the crimes of Pakistan’s security forces in #Balochistan, and urgent intervention from the global human rights community to protect the lives and dignity of Baloch civilians.

The world must not remain silent while Balochistan bleeds.

Women and children are once again on the streets in Islamabad. Met Nadia Baloch and Imaan Mazari who said the camp was moved to the middle of the road and the road is blocked by two buses that do not belong to the protesting families. Nearby residents who were earlier able to meet the protesting mothers, find it difficult to do so now. Year after year, the protests and the stories remain the same.

Today marks the seventh consecutive day of protests in Islamabad. For the past week, elderly mothers and young girls have been consistently denied permission to hold a peaceful demonstration outside the Islamabad Press Club.

A ban on protests and speaking out against human rights violations in Balochistan remains in place. Even when these women and children traveled to Islamabad to raise their voices peacefully, they were not allowed to do so.

It is crucial for human rights organizations to take a stand and speak out against this repression.

Today, our colleagues, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Sabgatullah Shahji, Beebagr Baloch, Beebo, Gulzadi, and Mama Gaffar Baloch were presented in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).

Previously, when they were shifted to jail for a ten-day remand, they were not allowed to meet their legal team, families, or colleagues, even though the court had ordered it. Today, the judges didn’t even ask about the previous progress of the case during that remand period. Once again, without reviewing any progression in the case, the judges granted another ten-day remand, which proves that the judges and the judicial system have completely failed to deliver justice.

These institutions, which claim to represent justice, are actually demolishing the justice system. They were originally established to uphold justice, but they are now utterly failing. These judges have no integrity—whether it’s out of fear or because of rewards they may have received.

The Pakistani judicial system has entirely collapsed, and in its place stands a rule of injustice.

We have always made it clear that our struggle is for the implementation of justice. We demanded that missing persons be brought before the courts. Whatever the state is doing to the Baloch people should at least go through the legal system, there must be legality. But instead, the justice system itself is being weaponized against us as a tool of repression.

This is not just injustice against us: it is a tragedy for the entire Pakistani judicial system.

We request everyone, to stand with us against these injustices. If this unjust system continues, it will eventually affect everyone in the near future.
