Remembering, understanding and creating - Bloom's Taxonomy is going to be a staple learning foundation throughout my #SDG15 unit. This framework will cater for all leaners in the classroom, it's all about application. Will you be referring to Bloom's Taxonomy? #UoNTeach#educ4750
@JaydenGodwin99 I think waste reduction week is such a great idea! It encourages a whole school approach which spreads even more awareness around the SDGs. A great incorporation for any SDG unit.
A core focus in our #SDG15 unit and project will be sustainable agriculture. Our class will be practicing sustainable agriculture via the raising of chickens and looking at how we can use fertiliser to reduce damage to soil๐ฃ๐ฅ #UoNTeach#educ4750#SDGs#sustainability
Creating a safe space for former veterans while training them in sustainable farming practices is exactly what SAVE farm is doing. This non-profit is redefining the field of sustainable farming by giving people the resources they need to work a farm job.

Belwal et al. (2021) depicts #PBL as an innovative approach to learning. I believe PBL offers self-learning skills and encourages professionalism in real-world situations. This can be achieved while maintaining a tight connection to the curriculum. #UoNTeach#educ4750
This is so intuitive! What a great way to personalise students learning and give them a sense of ownership and responsibility. This will fit perfectly in my teaching of #SDG15 and how we can sustain our ecosystems and trees! #UoNTeach#educ4750
This is a cute WC activity that has endless lesson opportunities. From recycling to investigating living things! It also is a great opportunity to develop S's responsibility. Definitely something I plan to use! #educ4750#UoNTeach#SDG12
Danone (2022) poses that we should produce healthy food that contributes to the protection of biodiversity through regenerative agriculture practices. This is where I found my inspiration for my #SDG15 project. Check them out! https://t.co/eV5KDKyMcH #UoNTeach#educ4750
@JaydenGodwin99@MissNelson98 I believe connected classrooms are a great idea! I think it would be useful for contacting other skills and learning programs they have in place to reduce waste generation such as 'nude food days', etc.
'Collaboration is multiplication'. Could not have said it better myself! ICT is a great tool for communicating change. Equally important, is collaboration - an ideal practice that all students across the globe should be doing for moments like this ๐ช#UoNTeach#educ4750#SDGs
This is such a great idea! Podcasts can encourage classroom discussion as well as give Ss the opportunity to take on multiple perspectives. Will definitely be considering this in my #SDG15 unit. Do you prefer podcasts or videos when teaching? #UoNTeach#educ4750
I'm using a podcast to strengthen research skills, promote collaboration, creativity & to share learning about SDG12 with a wider audience. You might find this casestudy helpful to ensure best teaching & practices using this ICT. https://t.co/7mZLAI1EOy

In my #SDG15 unit, I will be conversing between Men's Shed (AMSA). AMSA will be a great community link to assist in the practicality and effectiveness of my unit. It will also be a great opportunity for Ss to socialise with men outside of school. #UoNTeach#educ4750
@BellaWightman Group tasks! I love how group tasks effectively encourages students to collaborate with one another. On top of this, Project Based Learning is another tool in which we can facilitate the collaboration between students.
You've got your content sorted, but are you prepared to engage all Ss in your classroom? According to Hemyari et al. (2013), seating arrangement is linked to S engagement. In my #SDG15 unit, I will be arranging my Ss into groups to initiate collaboration! #UoNTeach#educ4750
@BreeseCharly Spot on! I would have students create a 'Pros and Cons' list. I would most likely do this as a whole class activity and encourage all students to contribute.
Is #hunting wildlife GOOD or BAD for our ecosystems? A controversial topic that can be utilised to promote critical thinking, discussions, debates and persuasive writing in a classroom. A great way to understand Ss preconceived ideas regarding #SDG15. #UoNTeach#educ4750
@Miss_GRiley I have indeed, Grace! The Kooragang Wetland Rehabilitation Project is in Hexham and provides school excursions that teaches Ss sustainable plans to maintain biodiversity and our local ecosystems.
A similar type of excursion would be great for the unit I am teaching in regards to #SDG15. Teaching students the importance of sustainable actions to halt the degradation of our land is a top priority of mine, particularly in my unit. #UoNTeach#educ4750
Project Based Learning! (#PBL). My #SDG15 unit will incorporate just as many skills as it will knowledge. My students will be apart of a team, not by themselves! Such a great reminder of what an ideal, effective learning environment looks like. #bitesizeSDGs#UoNTeach#educ4750
โWe can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking.โ
How do you encourage #innovation in your spaces?
๐Project Based Learning (#PBL)
๐Teach concepts, not facts
๐Make skills as important as knowledge
๐Form teams, not groups

Students are able to gain a greater understanding of content knowledge and group work skills through Project Based Learning (Kaldi et al., 2011). However, study shows that #PBL is a less favourable approach to teaching. Why do you think this is?๐ค #UoNTeach#educ4750
