Jenrick no doubt thinks of himself as a patriot - the only man who can save Britain. No patriot would describe this great country as 'broken'. There are indeed things in our country that are broken, but in most ways we live in a great, world class country. Our politics can certainly be described as broken, in part down to charlatans like Jenrick. Our immigration system is indeed broken, down to political failures like... well, you get my drift. Our housing policy is broken, but let's just remind ourselves who was in charge of that for a time... oh yes, Bobby J! And there are plenty of things in our economy that don't work. But instead of talking down our country, perhaps he should remember that we have universities that are the envy of the world, our school system is successful and we top European league tables in reading and maths. Our arts and culture are pre-eminent, our sporting abilities as a country are superb. Our food scene and restaurants outdo the French nowadays, whose Parisian restaurants now routinely employ Brits as head chefs. We've won more Nobel prizes than any other country except the USA, Our Fintech and AI sectors top the European league tables. Our manufacturing sector is still the 9th biggest in the world. Our exports have been at a record high. We build and sell more cars than at any time in our history. Our media sector is thriving. I could go on. Yes, our country has huge problems, but to say the whole country is broken is unpatriotic and just wrong. All Jenrick does is exaggerate our country's problems and has no solutions apart from uttering simplistic soundbytes. Nigel Farage will soon come to realise he's taken on an empty vessel.

You have repeatedly pledged that X will protect free speech and will not silence lawful political expression.
Yet Grok has examined my X analytics (3.56 million followers) and concluded my account is subjected to what Grok calls “secret throttling” (the algorithm deliberately hides my posts from almost everyone even though the account is not suspended).
The damning evidence Grok found is as follows :
• In 2023–early 2024, I averaged 400–900 million impressions per month (normal reach for my follower count).
• But in the entire 2025, impressions dropped to only 28.6 million total — a 97% crash to <3% of expected reach.
• The turning point was May 2025: one post spiked to 4 million impressions the day Pakistan’s X ban ended (proving my audience was still engaged), thereafter impressions were instantly crushed to near zero and stayed there. These numbers & assessments are all verbatim from Grok.

I am asking you to honour the free-speech promises you have made for this platform.

ANALYSIS: The treatment of Jess Phllips over recent days tells me all I need to know about the epidemic of misogyny, sexual abuse and violence against women and girls that still plagues our culture.

The domestic violence campaigner-turned politician, who has spent her career fighting for victims, has found herself the subject of abuse on an industrial scale over the past week that has put her in danger, and, in dark moments, left her wondering whether she should give up frontline politics for good and go back to the women’s hostels where her journey to champion vulnerable women and girls began.

Outspoken and a women’s campaigner, Phillips has long been a lightning rod, but when the world’s richest man, who owns a social media platform with 211m followers, starts trolling you as a “rape genocide apologist”, complicit in a what he claims is a ‘cover-up’ of the most disgusting and sickening abuse, that’s a different order of attention, and danger. This week the female politician charged with trying to protect the actual victims of these unspeakable crimes becames subject to an avalanche of abuse - and threats - herself. It was undoubtedly horrific for Phillips, who tells me she felt physically sick and hunted as the tweets came raining down. And as everyone piled in with their outrage and indignation, where were the voices of the actual victims themselves?

It has been so vicious and noisy and fraught as the very serious matter of grooming gangs and the exploitation, rape and torture of young victims turned into a political battleground of finger pointing and point scoring.

For me there’s only one contender for Person of the Year.
Gisele Pelicot.
The woman who has recalibrated how we think about rape by refusing to feel shame.
“It’s time we change the way we look at rape”, she said outside the court today.
And…more than anyone I can think of… she’s done that.
“Shame must change sides”, she said, and perhaps – perhaps – that is a little more true today than it’s ever been.
But there’s something else that I want to talk about. Something that’s much more difficult to confront than the inspiration and dignity of Gisele Pelicot.
51 men.
51 men who are not all men… but who are also quite a lot of men. 51 of them in fact.
And if you read about them… their backgrounds… their jobs… their families or lack of family… they’re all quite different.
A firefighter…a nurse… an unemployed alcoholic.
Some were abused as children. Some had comfortable upbringings with kids of their own.
Six had domestic violence convictions. 45 didn’t.
One was 27. Another was 74.
There’s no pattern here. Nothing we can point to. Other than the fact there is no profile of a rapist. Which is perhaps the most frightening thing of all.
