The chances are exactly 0. You cannot get HIV from a mosquito bite because

1. Mosquitoes are not flying injections. When a mosquito bites someone and sucks their blood, that blood goes into the mosquito's stomach and is completely digested. The HIV virus is destroyed in the mosquito's stomach during this process.

2. The "H" in HIV stands for HUMAN. The virus cannot survive, grow, or multiply inside an insect.

3. When a mosquito bites you, it does not vomit the previous person's blood into your body. It only injects its own saliva (to stop your blood from clotting so it can drink in peace). That saliva can carry the malaria parasite, but it cannot carry HIV.

In that compound, you are completely safe from HIV, but not malaria.

As someone who didn’t really like O&G in med school I think I love the department as an HO. I finished my 3-month rotation as an HO in O&G last week.

The first two months of the posting stretched me so much, I won’t lie. For every patient I met, I really gave my best.

You women are so full of strength. I tripled my respect for you all. Kudos to all supportive partners, saw quite a higher percentage of them.

I remember a patient offered me 10k. I refused initially because I was just doing my work, but she insisted. I had several similar moments like this.

I am grateful that a lot of these patients see how much work goes into ensuring healthy mothers and babies, and every measure to prevent maternal mortality.

I am so glad I didn’t witness any maternal mortality. I witnessed two near misses. I ran pillar to post on those occasions. So happy they survived.

One thing I love about O&G is that when you put in work, you see the result almost immediately.

For someone who didn’t want to have anything to do with theatre, I ended up assisting 8 Caesarean sections and 2 gynae surgeries. You can be sure I overcame my fear, and I am proud of myself. 🥹

My HOD’s final words: “You really did well during your posting with us.”

My story is getting long.

Perhaps it is time we give credit as much as we criticize.

I have been very critical of the institutional church bodies in Nigeria.

But lately, PFN Youth, under this man's leadership, has started doing the very things we complained they were not doing.

The AGO's message, which we all lauded, came from the conference PFN Youth organized.

The conference was held in Abuja. I do not need to tell you what that costs.

It runs into millions.

But the cost is not even the main thing. The impact is.

Now I saw him standing behind Pastor Yemi Davids, leading a protest regarding the killings of Christians in Nigeria.

Again, that is no small thing to do, considering the kind of socio-political relationship the church has historically had with the government in this nation.

I am saying that if we were critical, and still are, then we should also give massive credit and massive support when our representatives are doing the right things.

Well done, Apostle Immanuel Iren.

And well done to PFN Youth too.

If you think this is not enough and he should never be accepted back into PO’s camp, it only shows how terribly naive you are!

The big and wicked politicians know how to win elections; you can be their greatest enemy, but they will bring you onboard in as much you can help them in anyway win elections. Reno Omokri, Daniel Bwala, FFK, even Wike….. Tinubu brought them all in to advance his course.

Social media does not win elections, so enough of all these policing and grandmasters of the game online. If Reno Omokri choose to support PO today, the strategy of Nigeria politics requires that he should be brought into the fold.

So, let us be serious and stop all these satisfaction with winning arguments when what we want to win are votes!
