Good morning Nigeria! @PoliceNG, IG Kayode Egbetokun, @BenHundeyin
Today yet again, we are respectfully asking Assistant Commissioner of Police Michael Marcus Tarfa, of the FCID Abuja, whether he is aware that the late Mohbad’s matter, which former actor Yomi Fabiyi repeatedly claims to be acting upon under a so-called “harmonisation directive from the Presidency” on TikTok, has already gone through a Coroner’s Inquest?
The Coroner’s Inquest in Lagos issued its recommendations after sitting for almost two years, while the DPP has filed charges against those it deemed to be charged. As a matter of fact, Ayobami Sadiq (Spending) abducted by Yomi Fabiyi in Lagos with the help of Supol Ige Adejoke (as alleged in Yomi’s video) has a hearing in court in the same case Yomi is “acting upon” for 11 November 2025.
If the case is before a competent court, then what exactly is this “harmonisation directive” being invoked, and from whom?
We are also appealing to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Force PRO, @BenHundeyin , to kindly clarify the position of the Nigeria Police Force and to investigate the online activities and claims of Yomi Fabiyi, which continue to cause public confusion and embarrassment to the Force and to the Presidency.
Upon investigation, where cleared, we demand the immediate and unconditional release of all persons reportedly held in FCID custody in connection with this same matter
They must not be made to pay for their freedom, as the Nigeria Police itself has consistently maintained that bail is free.
Furthermore, the continuous tracking, trailing, monitoring, and planned abduction of others, as heard in several videos from Yomi Fabiyi and his cohorts online, must cease immediately.
If there is any further investigation necessary, the Police should issue formal invitations, as the institution has always been known to do.
Anything outside that is intimidation and a violation of due process.
This is a civic request for clarity, accountability, and due process.
Nigerians deserve transparency and assurance that no citizen will be used to intimidate or harass another under the banner of the Police.

Sir IGP Kayode Egbetokun,
I address you directly because of urgent concerns about the recent announcements and ongoing exploitation of the general public on TikTok in the Mohbad case.
An individual by the name Yomi Fabi publicly claimed that the federal government has directed the harmonisation of everything concerning Mohbad’s case and its transfer to the FCID in Abuja.
I respectfully wish to state the following:
Even if such a directive exists, the announcement and solicitation of funds by a private citizen on social media is both improper and risks undermining due process.
The case has already gone through a coroner’s inquest, and the relevant investigating authorities have issued recommendations; this means procedural safeguards are already engaged, and internally driven social-media fundraising for police operations may not align with formal procedure.
Furthermore, it has been reported that certain persons connected with the case were allegedly taken by officers purportedly from Abuja — one from inside a courtroom and another from his residence — without any formal invitation or prior notice, despite pending proceedings before the court.
This raises grave concerns about the legality, propriety, and authorisation of such actions.
I therefore call on you, Sir IGP, to publicly confirm:
• Whether any official directive has been issued to transfer the case to FCID Abuja;
• Whether your office authorised or sanctioned any such arrests or removals of persons from Lagos to Abuja while related matters remain pending before a court;
• Whether any fundraising by private individuals for operational intervention (arrest or investigation) has been sanctioned by your office; and
• What measures your office is taking to discourage informal, independent solicitations of funds or parallel operations by social-media actors in ongoing criminal investigations.
Sir, I and many well meaning Nigerians both in diaspora and Nigeria trust in the professionalism and integrity of your esteemed office to ensure that due process, transparency, and the rule of law prevail in this matter as we look to your leadership for clarity, reassurance, and the restoration of public confidence in lawful procedure.
Thank you, for your anticipated attention and intervention.
