Another historic day for the Lakeside.
Ugrading to bitumen standard of Kalamindi-Osani-Nyakweri road, a transport corridor that connects Nyatike and Ndhiwa constituencies has officially kicked off.
Proud to have presided over its launch at Kalamindi Junction in Ndhiwa.
We held a productive meeting with Hon. Davis Chirchir, EGH, the Cabinet Secretary for @TransportKE. Our discussions centred on actively advocating for the opening, construction, and upgrading of the county's road network to boost our local economy.
Key projects include expediting the completion of the Sori-Magunga-Sindo-Mbita Road and constructing the Gor Mahia Ring Road in Ndhiwa. Developing the Adiedo-Namba Karabok road, Ojijo Oteko road, Homa Bay town roads, Kadongo- Gendia, and Oboke- Rangwe - Ndiru roads. These initiatives are vital for improving the movement of people and goods in and out of Homa Bay County.
The leadership of Homa Bay County, including @senatorkajwang, Senator Beatrice Ogola, Hon. Ong'ondo Were (Kasipul), Hon. Dr. Eve Obara (Kabondo Kasipul), Hon. Adipo Okuome (Karachuonyo), Hon. Dr. Lilian Gogo (Rangwe), Hon. Martin Peters Owino (Ndhiwa), Hon. Opondo @gpdkaluma (Homa Bay) and Woman Rep Hon. Dr. Joyce Osogo Bensuda formed the county delegation.
@MamboMseto254 With the 238m he could have atleast tarmacked 4km plus the box culvert at Kinanie. Seems like his project manager didn't advise the contractor appropriately
Four Pockets of Debt in Kenya (c/o Jimmy Wanjigi):
1. The Paris Club pocket - Bretton woods institutions
2. The London Club debt - Eurobond & syndicated debt
3. Chinese debt
4. Domestic debt - treasury bills & bonds
In the medium to long term guidelines, you can only borrow for development. E.g. USAID funding a bridge under the appropriation bill.
♦️ The London Club pocket is expensive commercial money coming from private investors looking to earn an interest rate (6-7%). $ 7 Billion wasn't in the budget, the consolidated fund. It wasn't for development.
♦️ Chinese debt stipulates what projects are being supported.
- The SGR example: a private project not to rely on taxpayer funds. The technical study yielded KES 55 billion from Mombasa to Malaba. The figure shot up to KES 360 billion Mombasa to Nairobi. It shot up again to KES 500 billion to get to Naivasha.
-Govt was to raise 10% or KES 50 billion (self raising finance under the treasury). The Chinese govt would finance 90%.
- KES 644 billion was raised from treasury.
- KES 700 billion above the required amount went into the project.
♦️ Local debt amounting to KES 5.1 Trillion:
Banks, insurance companies: our taxes pay for banks to make profits.
Local interest rates are high to retail, but institutions lend to government at ~16%
♦️These bonds and bills have funded nothing in the budget.
We've paid KES 2.7 T in interest payments. Should our money be in bills and bonds that do not build the nation.
We are in a mode of slavery!
The 2024/25 & 2025/26 budgets have KES ~1.8 Trillion & 2.3 Trillion under *repayment*.
CS health should be a doctor!
CS transport should be an engineer!
CS defense should be a military officer!
All CSs should be the best, most qualified people in their dockets!

If you are a Kenyan,
You must have seen a sustained narrative claiming that your president and his deputy are at loggerheads.
They are NOT.
You must have heard that the president is persecuting his deputy just the same way the former president was at loggerheads with his deputy.
They were not.
Here is the thing,
The system keeps you in a sustained political debate.
This artificial conundrum is designed to distract you and vex your spirits.
This debate is meant to sow divisions among citizens.
The system thrives in confusion, division and distraction.
Listen,
The social stratum has the wealthy, the middle class and the poor.
The poor are busy looking for survival, they have little time for political correctness.
The wealthy are busy looking after their wealth by funding politicians to write legislation that will continue making them wealthier.
The crux of the matter is in the middle class where you and I sit.
These are the pawns of the game. They are educated but are idiots.
They are the ones who go to the queue for voting. (The poor don't vote unless induced by money).
The middle class are the noise decibels.
They are the donkeys that work hard to feed the rich. They are heavily taxed.
They are the fools thrown into a heated circus to hate each other, create divisions and distract themselves.
They claim to be learned but cannot decipher the political con game.
The middle class are the ones with big televisions, smartphones and computers. It is here the rich pay the media to sow seeds of confusion and distraction.
It is only a foolish Kenyan who thinks the political crooks from both ends of the political divide don't meet privately to laugh at how they have divided the masses.
It is only a foolish citizen who thinks politicians serve them.
They don't and will never.
Politicians serve
• The World Bank
• World Economic Forum
• IMF
• USAID
• UKAID
• America
• Britain
Refuse to be drawn into imaginary conflicts.
Focus on your goals.
Mobilize your energies.
Politicians won't save you. They are part of the problem.
