Any political leader or group of citizens who wrongly believes that corruption and high cost of governance are the major problem of Nigeria today has only further revealed himself to be an ìncompetent and ignorant person. Peter Obi & his political infants belong in this ignoble class.
The economic problems of Nigeria are multidimensional and prime among these are:
1. Failure of successive governments to implement the wealth-creating capitalist, sustainable economic model that transformed countries in Asia.
2. The other problems emanates from the above.
Besides, Peter Obi has no record of building anything of value. Nothing besides a superficial, tokenistic approach to governance that never added any legacy development to Anambra.
Yes, almost all FC run at loss but owners absorb these losses for capital appreciation (selling the club for a massive profit later), global brand exposure (for other businesses they own), and asset value
Around 94% of clubs in the English top leagues suffered financial losses in the last football calendar year.
The football itself is not even profitable. So who is keeping these clubs afloat? The government, of course.
Now ask yourself why this weekly spectacle is considered important enough to sustain despite being unprofitable. I will let you work that one out.
And while you are at it, ask yourself why this brand of entertainment is being exported to your African countries so cheaply, despite its unprofitability at home?
