It is reported that senior leaders are practicing a policy of non-cooperation toward State President Ramachandra Rao. While they maintain a veneer of respect outwardly, critics say they do not take his calls for action seriously. There are rumors that Ramachandra Rao has occasionally countered this silence by making strategic moves during committee appointments, such as prioritizing leaders from the Secunderabad Parliamentary segment despite Union Minister Kishan Reddy reportedly not recommending them. This is being viewed by workers as a subtle display of his authority.
"What’s in it for us?"
There is a growing perception that when Ramachandra Rao calls for protests against government policies or public grievances, many leaders ignore them. Union Ministers and MPs are criticized for adopting an attitude of: "The President will handle it... why should we? Don't we have other programs? Should we just follow his orders?" This fragmented approach has hindered the party's ability to effectively challenge the government. Furthermore, it is reported that the list of spokespersons was prepared unilaterally without consulting other key leaders. High command leaders in Delhi were allegedly shocked to find names on the list who were unfamiliar with party ideology or involved in various controversies and police cases.
Demand for an Aggressive President:
While Ramachandra Rao is known for his mild-mannered and non-confrontational nature, workers argue that this temperament is damaging the party's prospects. With 8 MPs and 8 MLAs, the party should ideally be on the offensive, reacting immediately to every public issue with protests and demonstrations. Workers believe that if a leader with a more aggressive "firebrand" personality were given the presidency—one who leads from the front on the field—it would energize the cadre. Such a shift would compel other leaders to participate in party programs out of a fear of being left behind.
Eagerness to Please CM Revanth Reddy:
Accusations have surfaced that some BJP leaders are attempting to stay in the good graces of CM Revanth Reddy. While they criticize him publicly, they reportedly seek proximity for personal gains in private meetings. There is talk that certain MPs and MLAs visit him to settle individual grievances. This lack of coordination was evident during Assembly sessions, where it was rare to see all MLAs sitting together and supporting a colleague who was speaking on the floor.
The Jubilee Hills Failure:
The party's performance in the Jubilee Hills by-election has drawn heavy internal criticism. Workers believe that with a concerted effort, the party could have secured second place. Instead, due to the conduct of certain leaders regarding candidate selection and campaigning, the party failed to even retain its deposit. There is now a palpable fear that this failure might negatively impact the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
"Supreme in Our Own Segments"
The conduct of certain MPs has become a significant hurdle. In the Jubilee Hills by-election, the party prioritized the choice of local MP Kishan Reddy. Similarly, in the Huzurabad municipal polls, tickets were given to individuals suggested by local MP Bandi Sanjay. Consequently, MPs are now reportedly objecting to any interference from other leaders in their respective segments for the upcoming local body elections. Selecting candidates for the crucial Greater Hyderabad, Malkajgiri, and Cyberabad municipal polls has thus become a daunting challenge.

Sunil Bansal Gives Up?
General Secretary and In-charge Sunil Bansal, having closely observed the deep-rooted egos and differences among the top brass, has reportedly "raised his hands" in frustration. It is said that whenever he tries to pacify one group, another starts a non-cooperation movement. Tired of the constant complaints and bickering, Bansal has reportedly requested the high command on several occasions to relieve him of his responsibilities in the state.
False Reports to High Command:
Lower and middle-level leaders allege that the BJP top brass received inaccurate reports regarding the ground reality in Telangana both before and after the recent Assembly and Parliamentary elections. They claim that the leadership change (the removal of the previous president) before the Assembly polls was based on false information provided by some senior leaders, which also gave room to the "BJP-BRS nexus" propaganda. While the party suffered a crushing defeat in the Assembly elections, they attribute the success of the 8 MPs in the Lok Sabha polls solely to PM Modi's image. They point out that the BRS, which these leaders predicted would win the Assembly, failed to win a single MP seat, exposing the hollowness of their internal reports.
Call for Modi-Shah Intervention:
BJP workers remain confident that if the high command.. specifically PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.. intervenes and takes decisive action, the party can win the next round of elections. Political observers and workers alike blame the local leadership for the fact that a party with 8 MPs and millions of workers is relegated to a secondary opposition role rather than being the primary challenger to the Congress government. They assert that, barring a few, many leaders still possess a "tail-end" mentality toward the BRS. They hope the Prime Minister, during his current visit, will assess the situation and take immediate steps to set the house in order.
