Excited to share our study recently published in #JRP in which @DBsamuel_phd and I revised facets of the AB5C-SF to be more consistent with their circumplex locations. Findings led to some interesting conceptual questions as well (A Thread) https://t.co/vhjsh63Ggo
Have you ever felt shaky about adapting a questionnaire measure for an EMA study? Well, we did too, so we did everything we could to analyze the reliability and validity of 5 facets of impulsivity. Our results suggest that 2-3 of these can be separately measured in EMA. (1/7)
So nice to get "together" for a lab meeting and wine tasting to celebrate the simple things, like managing to muddle through 4 months of Pandemic, as well as some great productivity and accomplishments along the way!

my first first-author paper (been wanting to use this phrase for a while!) now accepted at JRP: #Personality change and personality as predictor of change in psychotherapy - A longitudinal study at a community mental health clinic https://t.co/5qexhWPpv4 #AcademicChatter (1/6)
We are disturbed and saddened by recent events targeting the black community. Our department strives to be a diverse and inclusive environment safe to all people of color. We stand in solidarity in the fight against systemic racism and injustice.
All lives matter, but not all lives have been afflicted by systemic racism, inequity, & injustice for generations. Those are the lives that we need to learn from, empathize with, & demand a change for.
I will be vulnerable in order to learn.
I will listen so I know what to say.

Please support the Purdue @Purdue_PsychSci Undergrad honors students at their virtual poster session! Including several who have spent time in our lab and honors posters from Natasha Lang and Kaylyn Cox. Both did a tremendous job!
I had the pleasure of leading this crew in the @Purdue_PsychSci Honors Program over 2 years. Unfortunately, #COVID19 forced us to virtual meetings and taken away the poster session. BUT, please check out the virtual poster gallery at this link!!!

Spoiler alert: the effects are strongly negative
I’ll say it again: Students/Alumni....always, always, always update your former professors on your achievements no matter how insignificant or small they seem to you. These emails are like oxygen.
APA has released official guidance on conducting tele-assessment during COVID-19: https://t.co/nOgqv1Q4o0
Thank you to the contributions by Board Members from the Society for Personality Assessment @SPA1938 and our own Section IX of APA's Division 12, @SCPdiv12!
An excellent thread on the potential value of “behavioral tasks” in psychopathology research. TLDR, they need a systematic measurement development and construct validation. But you should read @trevfw ‘s more detailed observations.
As you practice social distancing, also practice means safety. Limit access to methods for suicide in your home + reach out to folks + encourage them to do the same. Environmental prevention tools are effective + when isolation increases they become more important #COVID19
