As a single-mom, a women of color, and long-time political professional, I can say with great authority that it is this type of bullying and malicious slandering that intimidates diverse candidates from running for office or pursuing leadership roles.
As the next TDP Chair, we will not only have a State Party that maintains zero tolerance for this type of Trumpian behavior, but we will have the backs of leaders and activists who push the Party to be better.
We will also have a Party that respects the role of journalists everywhere who dare to hold leaders accountable. I look forward to running alongside Democrats who believe in this vision for the Party. This is how we build a truly representative democracy.
I met toddlers at Dilley who were so anxious and depressed that they couldn’t eat, sleep, or go to the bathroom – let alone play. This is state-sanctioned child abuse and it needs to end now.

Three ICE field offices in Texas have arrested more people per capita than the St. Paul field office, despite the surge there, since mid-December.
So have the field offices in San Diego, Phoenix and Dallas. https://t.co/qzDxeAwkrv #txlege
For years, far-right oil billionaire Tim Dunn has been Ken Paxton's biggest funder and supporter. So why, as Paxton runs for U.S. Senate, has Tim Dunn disappeared? #txlege

David Griscom writes, "After an activist accused candidate James Talarico of characterizing U.S. Rep. Colin Allred as a 'mediocre black man,' Talarico admitted that he'd said that Allred had a 'mediocre' method of campaigning in 2024. However, here’s one thing that should not be controversial: admitting Allred had a mediocre method of campaigning in 2024." https://t.co/kBB4h4Lu9a
Ramos: A few years ago, I went to Venezuela and talked to Maduro. He didn't like the questions. He arrested me and he deported me. I cannot believe that right now in the United States, we're talking about a reporter that is asking tough questions and that the government decides to arrest him. That's exactly what's happening. The same thing that happened in Venezuela.
The suit filed @KenPaxtonTX against @JoltInitiative, accusing them of registering non-citizens to vote (based on @MariaBartiromo's fever dream), was so full of lies and half-truths that a federal judge issued a rare "bad faith" ruling when it was tossed out.

Texas AG Ken Paxton tried to revoke a Latino advocacy group's corporate charter in bad faith, a federal judge ruled today.
Paxton produced no credible evidence that Jolt Initiative Inc. registered non-citizens to vote, Judge Robert Pitman said. #txlege

Trump publicly attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar hours before she was assaulted in Minneapolis. Today, TX Gov. Greg Abbott and AG Ken Paxton are moving to shut down CAIR, the largest Muslim civil rights group. This is how political hate becomes real-world intimidation and violence.
As many as 1500 detainees at the Dilley ICE camp have erupted in protest.
Lawyers were kicked out amid chants of: "Let us out! libertad!!"
Detainees say ~80% are rebelling, motivated by the news from Minneapolis, the general strike, and the imprisonment of little Liam.
Live: Major demonstration by detainees at Dilley Family Detention Ctr! I was just kicked put from atty visit. Hundreds chanting what sounds like "let us out! Let us out!"
Mamdani was what so many politicians, law firms, universities, media companies, and others have not been: totally, completely, authentically unafraid. That's the only way to defeat authoritarianism.

.@AOC says of Mamdani victory: "A lot of people...are willing to talk about party unity when it serves them, but not party unity when it serves everybody."
"We have a future to fight for, and we're either going to do that together or you're going to be left behind."
